When teams are given the space to reflect, connect, and build a shared understanding of culture, the results go far beyond the session itself 🚀

From strengthening emotional safety to setting clear, healthy boundaries, this is the kind of work that supports people to perform well, without burning out 💡

At Human Brilliance, we combine psychology, coaching, and real-world experience to create training that genuinely shifts how people think, feel, and work together.

Because when people feel safe, supported, and understood, everything changes 🌱

Culture is rarely shaped by what’s written down; it’s shaped by what people experience every day 💡

In our latest blog, we explore the “Monkeys and the Ladder” metaphor and what it can reveal about organisational culture, unspoken rules, and psychological safety 🐒🪜

Because the real question isn’t just whether people can speak up, challenge ideas, or try something new, it’s whether they feel safe enough to do it.

When fear, uncertainty, or old patterns quietly shape behaviour, growth can stall before it even begins. But when organisations create cultures rooted in trust, openness, and genuine psychological safety, people and performance can thrive together 🌿

When storms hit, the palm tree doesn’t snap, it bends. It moves with the wind, stays rooted, and rises again when the skies clear 🏝️

That’s resilience.
And it has nothing to do with 'toughing it out' or pretending everything is fine.

In the workplace, resilience looks more like:
🌴 Staying grounded in your values
🌴 Knowing when to pause rather than push
🌴 Asking for support when you need it
🌴 Adjusting, rather than breaking yourself to fit the pressure
🌴 Recovering and returning with clarity

Too often we’re told to “be strong”, when actually what helps us thrive is the ability to stay flexible, to bend without losing who we are.

So this year, remember to be more palm tree! 🤩

Positive feedback is always lovely to read! 🥹

This kind of feedback is even more useful because it shows whether people would genuinely recommend the experience ⭐

Based on our recent survey, our net promoter score came out as 88!

That = a top-tier result in the training space, and it reflects what we aim for every time 👏 Workshops that feel relevant in the room, then continue to make a difference once people are back in the day-to-day.

If your organisation is ready for training that sticks, builds shared language, and strengthens how teams work together, let’s start a conversation.

Most organisations don’t need more wellbeing initiatives, they need more clarity 🔍

Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, employers must assess risks and protect employee welfare, and that includes mental health.

👉 So the question becomes, is mental wellbeing covered in practice, or just in principle?

This 60-second audit is a simple way to spot gaps before pressure becomes burnout, absence, or avoidable risk.

Today our Wellbeing and Brilliance Creator Ben and Business Development Manager Mel are at Humberside Police attending the Humberside Police Female Development Conference and Networking Day. The event has been arranged by the Women’s Integrated Network and it has been inspiring to hear about the work HP does to support women in policing.

At Human Brilliance, we believe that when people are given space to reflect, feel psychologically safe and invest in their wellbeing, their brilliance naturally emerges. Through workshops, training and coaching, all informed by organisational and human psychology, we support organisations to create healthier cultures where both people and performance can thrive.

Workshops stick when people feel safe to show up, reflect, and talk honestly 🌿

Which is why we’re thrilled to learn that attendees told us the interactive group work and practical activities helped people understand themselves and each other better, making day-to-day teamwork feel smoother and more connected! 🤝

Every workplace has unspoken rules, the ones nobody writes down, but everyone feels 👀

These invisible expectations shape how safe people feel to speak up, take risks, ask for help, or simply be themselves 🧠This is the psychological contract, and it influences culture far more than policies ever can.

When leaders surface it, everything shifts: trust grows, clarity improves, and performance becomes more sustainable 🌿

The clearest signal we can get is how people felt after our sessions...
⭐ 100% of participants recently surveyed were satisfied with the overall training experience! ⭐

That tells us we’re getting the balance right, sessions that are psychologically grounded, practical, and genuinely engaging, not box-ticking.

In the feedback, people spoke about:
✨ More clarity
✨ Stronger communication
✨ Teams working better together, day to day

If you want training that supports wellbeing and performance side by side, we’d love to talk.

The Human Approach to Resilience ✅

Resilience isn’t about telling people to “just cope” 👀 Or pushing through at all costs.

It’s about helping people stay steady while under pressure and recover properly afterwards.

In our work, resilience becomes practical when people are supported to:
👉 Adapt when things change, rather than rigidly pushing on
👉 Use support and resources instead of carrying everything alone
👉 Protect and restore their energy (doing more isn’t always the answer)
👉 Focus on what they can influence, rather than burning out on what they can’t

This approach draws on the resilience model developed by Dr Rose Aghdami.

🚨 And here’s the part many organisations are finally waking up to:
Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, employers have a legal duty to assess risks and protect employee welfare and that includes mental health.

⚠️ This isn’t a “nice to have” anymore. The shift is real. From optional... to expected.

💬 If you’re looking for training that blends psychology, neuroscience and real-world application (without buzzwords or box-ticking), our Building Brilliance might be just what you need.

Our next Mental Edge session is facilitated by Felicity King. A Yorkshire born farmer’s daughter, educator, and founder of Courage People.

The session is on 'Rewilded Alignment - What spring can teach us about purpose and energy'.

Together we will explore the biology of alignment and what happens in our bodies when we work with our energy rather than against it. We will also look at what spring, the season of emergence, can teach us about directing our energy with purpose. This is not just a workplace conversation. Alignment is just as essential in family life, relationships, and personal identity.

Whether you are managing teams, raising a family, or navigating change in your own life, this session will leave you with a renewed sense of clarity, purpose, and direction.

Event Details:
🗓️ 11th March 2026

A little bit funny, and a little bit too real 😅

If wellbeing is in the company values, but not in the risk assessment, that’s a gap worth closing 👀

Employers have a duty to assess risks and protect employee welfare, and mental health counts. So yes, the “nice to have” era is fading fast ⚠️

We help teams move from good intentions to practical action, with training that gives shared language, clear tools, and a plan that actually sticks 📈
