🌿 The Connection Between Trigger Points and Headaches 🌿
Did you know that headaches, including migraines, can often be triggered by underlying muscle tension, particularly in the neck, shoulders, and upper back. These areas are prone to developing trigger points—tight, hypersensitive spots that can refer pain to other areas, including the head.
When these muscles are overworked, stressed, or injured, trigger points form and can lead to recurring headaches or migraines. The latter are quite often a result of trigger points in the sternocleidomastoid muscle (as you can see on the posted picture). They can cause not only pain but also other symptoms, including tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and blurry vision.
Fortunately, massage therapy is an effective treatment for addressing these trigger points. By applying targeted pressure, stretching and other techniques, massage can help release tension and reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.
If you are suffering from persistent headaches or migraines, massage therapy can provide natural relief by focusing on the muscles that may be causing or contributing to your pain.
