It’s a grey start but it’s also a passing through Imbolc, also known as Brigid’s Day, which falls halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. It is a time when the days start to lengthen and the earth begins to awaken from its hibernation. It serves as a reminder that winter is nearing its end and spring is on it’s way.
This turning of the year beckons us to witness the tender shoots pushing though the soil, the emerging birdsong, mirroring the inner awakening that unfolds within us. Cue these beautiful, seemingly fragile but completely resilient snowdrops by the front door.
Stepping into this phase prompts us to opening up to this awakening. There is no need to rush, it is still cold, but we can start a little. Still restful but knowing that even if the cold comes again, it will pass.
I love to use these reminders from the natural world to help me reset and feel more grounded and connected so we’ll bring it into class; aligning with this energy, gently shaking off and releasing some winter languidness and softly opening ourselves to this newness. I think we might all feel a little ready for this!
See you there 💚🙏🏼💚
