And we’re back.

I’ve missed our classes this last week but took some wonderful down time Nidderdale way and indulged the joy of simplicity, watching and listening to birds, stumbling upon ancient henges, family moments (especially precious with teens ☺️), lovely good food, reading, practice and rediscovering the pull of a jigsaw.

We resume today with online chair yoga at 9.30am and away we go for 5 or 6 weeks. And this was the start of the start this morning 🌅

I look forward to seeing you soon 🙏🏼

Wait. It’s not Monday? Think I let go too much!

After a wonderful weekend of training with Good Ground Yoga, we come to mats and chairs this last week before half term break to find release and softness.

Come along with us ☺️

Last class this week will be online flow Sunday at 8am and then no classes until the following Sunday.

I will also be at Together in Grief on the Saturdays for the next two weeks. Contact Fitmums and Friends for any further information.

It’s a grey start but it’s also a passing through Imbolc, also known as Brigid’s Day, which falls halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. It is a time when the days start to lengthen and the earth begins to awaken from its hibernation. It serves as a reminder that winter is nearing its end and spring is on it’s way.
This turning of the year beckons us to witness the tender shoots pushing though the soil, the emerging birdsong, mirroring the inner awakening that unfolds within us. Cue these beautiful, seemingly fragile but completely resilient snowdrops by the front door.

Stepping into this phase prompts us to opening up to this awakening. There is no need to rush, it is still cold, but we can start a little. Still restful but knowing that even if the cold comes again, it will pass.

I love to use these reminders from the natural world to help me reset and feel more grounded and connected so we’ll bring it into class; aligning with this energy, gently shaking off and releasing some winter languidness and softly opening ourselves to this newness. I think we might all feel a little ready for this!

See you there 💚🙏🏼💚

Later than I intended this week. The weekend held a large dose of cold virus and a few challenges along the way.

We’ve started gently this week, working with health and ease at the forefront, moving into the lymphatic system and solid rest.

Join us on the mats and chairs or Yoga Nidra online tonight connecting to comfort and restoring.

Morning everyone,

Sorry for the late notice but I am having to cancel the online session this morning. I developed cold symptoms yesterday and took to bed very early but I am streaming and coughing today so taking time to return to bed to rest.

Apologies. I hope you can find a good substitute in the recordings if you’re up and ready to practice.

See you next week.

Finding a sense of stillness and ease in a noisy world can be a challenging and ongoing process, both on and off the mat/chair. But it’s so essential to well-being.

This week we’ll explore finding these qualities in your practice, and that may be different for everyone: breathwork, movement, steadiness or balance (like Gabe below!)

See you soon ☺️🙏🏼☺️

When we consciously switch our focus we can change how we experience something in a big way.

At a time when the push is on to change, to resolve, a really useful practice is to practice seeing life (or our practice) with the beginner’s mind.

What is the beginner’s mind? It’s a zen Buddhist concept; dropping our expectations and preconceived ideas about something, and seeing things with an open mind, fresh eyes, just like a beginner. Looking at what we already have, experience or do as if it’s brand new to us.

On my run today I was watching a bird on the verge. Can you see it? It’s there in the first picture. Much harder to see in the second. All I did was (quite literally this time!) change the focus.

That’s what we’ll be exploring in the week. Whether our practice is new, or we are a more seasoned practitioner, there’s much to be gained from bringing openness and curiosity to the mat or chair and releasing expectations about how something will go and what we can and can’t achieve.

I look forward to seeing you soon 🙏🏼

January classes have restarted. (quicker than my internet updates!)

Good to be back on the mats and chairs with you.

If you’re new to yoga or planning to restart. Don’t worry. Get in touch. Pop along. Come as you are. For the most beneficial yoga is where we start exactly where we are and work in an embodied way from there.

Any questions or enquiries, feel free to get in touch.

Hello 👋

A reminder that there is a day of classes tomorrow.

I am offering 9.30am online chair yoga, 1pm embodied yoga at St Mary’s Hall, Beverley and 4pm online embodied yoga.

This is a stand alone day as I am guiding you through my teaching plan for my current Forrest yoga inspired learning. Expect intention, mobilising, abdominals, sun salutations and a peak pose, cool down and a wonderful quiet savasana. As it’s a practice for me, all classes are £5 and you are welcome along even if you attend a different venue or day. Just got a chance to get back on the chair and mat.

We then begins a six week half term block of classes from Sunday morning online flow.

I am looking forward to seeing you soon 🙏🏼
