Dove House Hospice is a core part of the health provision in the region, providing excellent services and support to residents of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. We rely heavily on the help of our volunteers and the local community for their support and generosity to ensure we raise the funds required to continue the excellent work we are known for.

Love Shack brings a line up of fantastic performers, a welcoming atmosphere, and the chance to contribute to the incredible services provided by Dove House Hospice, which delivers compassionate care to patients and families across our region. Every donation helps Dove House Hospice continue our vital work providing care, comfort, and support to families across our community.

Today marks the beginning of Children's Grief Awareness Week 2025. The theme for this year's campaign is 'Sharing Stories, Strengthening Hope'.

At Dove House, this theme is continuously radiated by our children's bereavement service - Roots of Support. 🌳

The service helps children from 6 to 17, with separate pathways available for the different ages. Support is there for all children, not only those whose loved one died at the hospice.

As this week progresses, we will be sharing lots of stories from Roots of Support users and children who have been impacted by bereavement. If you would like to learn more about the services or to make a referral , please follow the link: https://www.dovehouse.org.uk/roots/ 💜

We would like to remind you that today (16th November) is the final deadline to ensure that your loved one’s name appears in our Light Up a Life order of service; any dedications made after today will appear as an insert within the order of service.

Everyone is welcome to remember their loved one at Light Up a Life, you do not have to have a connection to the hospice.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Light Up a Life service, either at on Saturday 29th November* at the hospice at 4pm along with an additional service taking place at Hull Minster on Wednesday 3rd December at 7pm.

We’re excited to announce that the Christmas Tree Recycling initiative is returning in support of Dove House Hospice!

This year, we’re proudly partnering with Just Helping to offer residents an easy, eco-friendly way to dispose of their real Christmas trees, all while supporting vital hospice care in our community. 💚

Thursday 8th & Friday 9th January 2026

📍 Available in: HU5, HU7, HU8, HU12 & HU17

Amanda has worked at the hospice for over 20 years, acquiring a few different roles but currently she is our Patient Activities Coordinator. In her ‘Day In The Life’, she recounts her time at Dove House and the small things that make her career so enjoyable. 💛

“Many years ago, my mother-in-law was cared for at the hospice, and I remember thinking at the time, I’d love to work somewhere like this. When a job came up, I didn’t hesitate. I jumped at the chance, and I’m so glad I did. From the beginning, I felt I could combine my love of caring for people with my creative side, something I truly value.”
