🌿THANKYOU🌿It's been a couple of weeks since I started back in my clinic and I am so so grateful for all the support I have been given and it has been amazing to see all my amazing patients, old and new 😁 of course we are all still adapting to the new ways of life but I cannot be happier to be back! 🌿

*PLEASE READ* COVID-19 is still an ongoing threat in our day to day life and although restrictions are lifting and civilisation is trying to resume it's normal course, ultimately we are all needing to change certain aspects of our life, for both our own safety and that of others. This applies when thinking about the future and how I will be returning to clinic as soon as I am able.

As like everybody else, I have devised a plan to ensure that your appointments and treatments will resume with the best possible care in respect to PPE and reducing the risk of any infection. This will be enforced through high levels of cleaning and hygiene control; which has always been in place, however slightly changed with particular focus regarding new and ongoing COVID-19 guidance.

There will also be some slight changes in how appointments run and how we can work together to be able to achieve a safe and sustainable future, but I will explain this in more detail on a separate post.

I hope to see you all very soon! And get back to treating all your injuries and niggles, as I am sure it is long overdue! 😁

So we are well and truly into the new year, and I hope it is a very happy one for you so far! At this time of year, we have created new goals and aspirations that we wish to achieve throughout this sparkling new year, which can be really exciting and productive towards a fit and healthy lifestyle! 😁 If this is you, well done! 〽️TAPING〽️

In clinic, taping is used as a treatment to compliment rehabilitation and pain management.

It is designed to mimic the skin's elasticity so that you can still move the body through its full range of movement; all the while, supporting recovery.

The tape works by recoiling on the skin once applied, which gently lifts the skin's surface to allow space beneath it and it's surrounding body tissues.

✅Therefore, promoting improvement in blood circulation and and regulating lymphatic fluid such as swelling.✅

💪It can also support joints and muscles and their movement patterns through proprioception by re-educating them through movement receptors.🦵

Taping is used for:
✴️Treating injuries
✴️Supporting weakness
✴️Re-educating muscles
✴️Enhancing performance

Taping should not be used with:
❌Open wounds
❌Deep vein thrombosis
❌Active cancer
❌Lymph node removal
❌Uncontrolled diabetes
❌Adhesive allergies
❌Severely fragile skin

🥊BOXING🥊 Today's exercise plan for my patient involved a HIIT based boxing session! Out in the scorching weather ☀️

Boxing Benefits Include:

1) Full body workout that incorporates both cardio and strength easily into one session. Increasing your heart rate and improving endurance.

2) Improves motor skills and hand eye co-ordination whilst also developing agility and improved reaction times.

3) Reduces stress and anxiety by decreasing muscle tension and releasing endorphins into the system.

All of these benefits build fundamental foundations for both prehabilitation and rehabilitation techniques dependent on injury status.
