We’re thrilled to announce that Cornerhouse (Yorkshire) is welcoming two new Co-CEOs — Jenna Little and Viv Blackledge!

Both Jenna and Viv have been part of the Cornerhouse family for many years and bring a huge amount of passion, experience, and organisational knowledge into their new shared leadership role.

✨ Viv Blackledge first joined Cornerhouse as a volunteer on the Sexual Health Drop-In. She later joined the Peer Education Team in 2009, delivering relationship and s*x education across Hull and East Riding, supported young people at risk of exploitation through the CARE Project, and more recently served as Development Manager. Her journey reflects her long-standing commitment to empowering young people and strengthening community support.

✨ Jenna Little, a qualified social worker, joined in 2011 through the CARE Project. She quickly became project coordinator and the organisation’s resident expert in supporting young people facing exploitation or complex risks. Over the past year, Jenna has been Operations Manager, bringing compassionate leadership, and a trauma-informed lens to Cornerhouse’s services and partnerships.

Together, they bring decades of experience and a shared belief in the mission and values that make Cornerhouse what it is.

Viv and Jenna said:
“We’re really excited to take on this next step and continue driving the organisation forward. Cornerhouse and Tish has shaped both of our careers and lives, and we are excited to build on everything that has been achieved so far. Cornerhouse means so much to both of us, and we can’t wait to help shape its future.”

Here’s to a bright, bold future for Cornerhouse (Yorkshire) 💙

Tish retires today.

She's been with Cornerhouse since 1990 when it was AIDS Action. Holding many roles starting as a volunteer and spending the last nearly 20 years as the Operations Manager and then CEO.

She has absailed down buildings, done outreach in the snow, trained in every venue from schools to prisons, supported countless staff and volunteers, laughed and cried with all of us.

We will miss her immeasurably but she's definitely earned her retirement, and we wish her the happiest of retirements (through our tears!)

We love you boss 🥂

Today the team at the Humber and North Yorkshire ICB Children and Young Peoples Trauma Informed Care Programme.

Trauma informed practice makes simple changes to language and approach with a set of values to be curious about what is going on for the children, young people and families we're supporting.

Consider the difference between the questions in the image.

"What happened to you" removes the judgement and assumptions that might come with the slightly different question of "what is wrong with you". It is curious and wants to know more.

How might this simple change affect the way you engage with the person or system asking it if you're a child or family?

This is a very simple start to trauma informed work and something we do every day.

World AIDS Day – 1 December 2025

On World AIDS Day, we honor progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS and recommit to ending stigma and ensuring equitable healthcare.

We remember those who were unable to benefit from the progress made today and suffered due to stigma and a lack of understanding from society.

While new infections and deaths have significantly decreased, millions still face barriers to treatment.

Together, let’s build a future free from AIDS with hope, action, and compassion.
