The Avenues Medical Centre is a Veteran friendly practice and we are trying to identify all of our registered patients who are veterans.
Earlier in the year you should have received a questionnaire asking you if you ever served in the Armed Forces.

Please let us know if you have ever served in the Armed Forces if you haven't already.

❗️NHS weight loss treatment update for patients.

From today, a new weight loss treatment called tirzepatide also known as Mounjaro® will start to be used by the NHS but it is not currently available via GP Practices in Humber and North Yorkshire.

Once fully available only those that meet certain criteria will be eligible to receive it - this will be based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and certain health conditions.

We know that managing weight can be incredibly challenging, and many people are asking about this treatment, after hearing about how effective it can be in helping with weight loss.

We appreciate that this might feel frustrating, especially when private options are being advertised. Until then, please do not contact your GP or Community Pharmacy (or any other NHS healthcare provider) to access this medicine as they are currently unable to prescribe this.

UPDATE - The issue we had with the phone lines has been resolved and phone lines are now back in working order. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We are currently experiencing issues with our phone lines due to a national outage affecting multiple services. This means we are temporarily unable to receive or make calls.

We are in contact with our phone supplier and awaiting further updates. We will let you know as soon as the issue has been resolved.
