Getting to the end of January can be hard, but you've made it.
We often put a lot of pressure on ourselves throughout the year, but especially in January and at times we just feel like hibernating.
With dark mornings and dark nights, cold weather, and Blue Monday (apparently the saddest day of the year), along with a long list of goals — lose the Christmas weight, set a summer body target, Dry January, more exercise, start the gym, walk more… it can all feel a bit overwhelming.
These goals are things we believe are good for us, but sometimes they can have the opposite effect.
For those that have achieved everything so far, hat's off to you.
If your not quite there, try to set goals that feel more realistic today and take small steps, and give yourself credit for what you do achieve. If things don’t go to plan, don’t punish yourself — review, adjust, and keep going or stop if that's what you need to do.
Take your time. Enjoy the moments. Real wellbeing is built over time.
Support from friends and family can go a long way, but sometimes having a more neutral, professional space can make all the difference. Coaching or therapy can help you gain clarity, set realistic goals, and create positive, sustainable change at your own pace.
