Did you know the NHS represents more than 5% of the UK's total carbon footprint?👣 In response NHS England have set the target of becoming Net Zero by 2045. Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust set their own target of 2030! https://zero30.uk/

Last week we run our own Pharmacy GREAT BIG GREEN WEEK in order to raise awareness of the impact we are having on the environment ♻️ We made pledges and got bamboo polar bear badges, shared ideas, discussed solutions, took action, educated ourselves, and even baked!🥧

There are lots information available online about climate change and its impact on the environment. We thought you might like to watch ‘Climate Change – The Facts’ presented by Sir David Attenborough https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00049b1/climate-change-the-facts

Pharmacy at Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust will continue working on reducing our carbon footprint🌳

The first education fair for patients with advanced kidney disease was organised by the Renal Department on the 17th of November.
The event which was held at the Village Hotel was an opportunity for patients with advanced kidney disease to interact with members of the renal multidisciplinary team including the pre dialysis specialist nurses, haemodialysis and home haemodialysis staff, peritoneal dialysis staff, pharmacists and dietitians.

Our renal pharmacist Aaron Acquaye with a trainee pharmacist Kevin were answering questions about medicines at the event!
