Finding fun and new ways to get active and making them a habit doesn’t have to mean running marathons or spending hours at the gym – unless you want it to of course!

For me, It's all about getting my dancing shoes on. Whether it's burlesque, Bollywood, salsa or jive, I like nothing better than getting moving to music and feeling the stresses of the day fade away.

For you, it could be as simple as taking your dog for a walk. Something you can do every day that boosts your mood while getting you moving ❤.

That’s the beauty of Slimming World’s physical activity support programme, Body Magic. Moving more starts with a single step – whether that’s literally with a morning walk, or by dipping your toes into some pool-time or kicking off your active adventure with a team game ⚽.

Whatever does it for you - get out there and get moving!

Public service announcement!

Slimming World is so much more than weight loss! Members soon start to notice those so called 'non-scale victories.'

Losing inches, walking easier with less joint pain, sleeping better, more self-confidence and improvements in health conditions are some of the knock-on effects of weight loss. If you’re thinking about taking a step towards better health and are interested in Slimming World, pop me a message 💌😊.

This takes me back.. Saturday morning in town wasn't the same without an ice cream float in Coffee House down Brook Street.

If you’re doing Dry January here’s some motivation to keep going in the form of a Cherry cola float – it’s an oldie and a goodie. Team diet cola and light vanilla ice cream (check the Syns of the one you buy) with a cherry on top and can be enjoyed while still losing weight 😍! Or if you fancy making your own ice cream try Slimming World’s recipe on the blog: https://www.slimmingworld.co.uk/blog/new-cherry-cola-float/

Just preparing for group today and as is my habit, I start looking back at my own week. So I had some Chocolate orange slices on Saturday, and I went out for vegan food with my sister and a friend on Friday (Atom - Beverley if you are interested).

Do I feel guilty? No! I enjoyed meeting up and sharing food.

But lets look at the Chocolate Orange and be curious as to why I tapped and unwrapped... I was bored. That's it. I don't crave chocolate usually but I was sitting there bored and caved in.

So, understanding yourself as a slimmer is key. I'm a boredom eater. So I need to ensure that when boredom strikes next time that I am prepared.

How do you stop yourself eating for the sake of it when bored??

“Trust yourself, love yourself, and be kind to yourself.” After Slimming World Consultant Ajay (slimmingwithajay on Instagram) was diagnosed with MS, he found it difficult to get around. Deciding to take control of his weight, he joined Slimming World, lost more than 3st and now feels fitter and stronger than ever ❤️.

Having just got back from running three busy sessions this morning, I am always ready for a big plate of delicious pasta! Cook whichever veggies you have to use up (I love broccoli, spinach and mushrooms in mine) add cooked pasta and 45g of McLelland Seriously Spreadable cheese (my healthy extra A choice). Then just tuck in...

Being able to eat as many carbs as you like until you’re satisfied AND lose weight is one of my favourite things about Slimming World 😍! You can enjoy servings of pasta, potatoes and rice because they’re great at filling you up and are really nutritious too. You can say YES to jacket potatoes, curries or try this super tasty pasta recipe and say hello to weight loss... it’s great 😊!

Ready to find out the Slimming World difference?

So I joined Slimming World as a member in July 2017 with my husband Steve. We both enjoy good food and wine and our lifestyle had led to inevitable weight gains. Fast forward 3 years and I am 3 stone lighter and Steve has lost 6 stone. We still enjoy great food and like a tipple or two, but have reaped the gains of the healthier lifestyle offered by Slimming World.

I’d tried different diets over the years including fasting and self hypnosis but they didn’t lead to sustainable habit changes. I even did Slimming World online, but without the support of a consultant and the other members of the group, it was too easy to fall off the path.

Once I discovered the difference it made mixing my own motivation with the experience of a Slimming World group, I never looked back - and soon realised I wanted to help others achieve their weight loss dream too, by becoming a consultant!

I started as a consultant in August 2018 and the first 18 months were a bit of a whirlwind, but by Christmas 2019, I was settling into a good routine with my groups. Then 2020 came and with it an influx of new members - and then came the Corona virus and lockdown. How was I going to support my members through this stressful time?
