Members POV at the StrongHer Collective

No matter your starting point, you will soon feel so much better with your strength and mobility

Our youngest member is 15 and our oldest is 65 years old

And it doesn't matter, because..

Everyone's here for the same reasons:

To feel strong and confident for everyday life ✨️

We have members who are here to stay fit through pregnancy, learn how to lift for the first time, combat age related muscle and joint decline or to just maintain physical and mental well-being for the long run

Whether you're a total beginner, have joint problems or already have some lifting experience, your workouts will be adjusted to your abilities so that you can walk away feeling like you've had a good session

Interested but unsure whether it's the right thing for you?

DM to book a FREE taster session ☺️

Q - Can pregnant women take creatine?

A - Although positive results for fetus and mother, there sadly have only been studies on mice, sheep and rats so far

Q - Is it safe for women with endometriosis to take creatine?

A - No. Research shows that it can make the disease progress by supporting fibrosis, angiogenesis and growth of lesions

Q - How does menopause affect metabolism?

A - Our oestrogen levels drop in menopause, causing muscle loss and therefore lowering our metabolic rate - making weight gain common

Q - Why does running make you gain weight?

A - Running makes us hungry and we tend to over estimate how much energy we spend. It is not the running, but over eating as a result of tiredness that cause weight gain

Q - Why do you get period symptoms if you are on the mini pill?

A - Even with methods that prevent a bleed such as the mini pill, the hormonal fluctuations can trigger symptoms. These hormones are neuroactive (impacts brain & mood). The mini pill does not fully suppress ovulation, resulting in period symptoms

This is your weekly reminder that no amounts of supplements can make up for the lack of regular strength training, a veg & protein rich diet and a splash of cardio 😘

Stop beating around the bush and take care of the basics before considering the 5% stuff πŸ˜‰

95% food & exercise

5% supplements
..Spend your money on some new gym leggings or an extra Christmas treat for yourself πŸ₯°

I know, sorry, it's creeping up on us way too fast but I'm excited now that our baby girl is 1 and can better appreciate the festivities 🀣 πŸŽ„ πŸŽ…

Lacking the energy to work out or diet because of menopause? Try this 😘

Yes - exercising and eating healthier gives you energy, BUT, you need to have some energy to invest in the first place

So if you feel like you're scraping the bottom of the energy barrel already, then the idea of adding intense exercise and trying to lose weight on top, will seem impossible to you

That's normal

You just need to focus on increasing your energy levels FIRST

Sleep is a HUGE one

This is where I would start if I was in this position

Your physical and mental capacity, especially your willpower and desicion making abilities, will improve and give you a stepping stone to take the next step

Which I recommend to be your nutrition:

More protein (minimum 120g a day)
2.5l of water
5+ fruit & veg a day
Limit sugary and low nutrient foods

NOW you will have the energy to take on exercise πŸ’ͺ🏼

Building muscle will increase insulin sensitivity, endorphin levels, growth hormones and offset muscle loss caused by declining oestrogen levels

If you feel stuck right now, try create an upward spiral by building up your energy levels ✨️
