Sexual exploitation could be a sign of modern slavery.

‘Pop-up brothels’ are temporary s*x work venues that are often set up in rented accommodation, holiday homes and even short-let properties.

Multiple visitors (usually male) coming and going at all times of the day and night could be a sign of a pop-up brothel.

Report concerns to the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700 or online via the QR code below or to Humberside Police on 101, in an emergency call 999

Our Practice Research Team are holding an information event in aid of "Be Part Of Research Campaign"

This event will give patients the opportunity to ask questions, gain study information, express an intertest in a study, and meet the Research Team.

The event will be held on Tuesday July 8th 14:00-16:00 on the ground floor of Bransholme Heath Centre.

All patients from James Alexander Family Practice Bransholme and Princes Avenue & Dr Hendow’s Practice are welcome.

We will be holding a tombola to raise funds for a local charity called “Active Humber”

Active Humber is a charity that helps people of all ages and backgrounds improve their health and well-being by getting active through sport and physical activity.

If you have any items at home that would make a great tombola prize and willing to donate, please bring them in to the surgery by Friday 4th July.

❗️NHS weight loss treatment update for patients.

From today, a new weight loss treatment called tirzepatide also known as Mounjaro® will start to be used by the NHS but it is not currently available via GP Practices in Humber and North Yorkshire.

Once fully available only those that meet certain criteria will be eligible to receive it - this will be based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and certain health conditions.

We know that managing weight can be incredibly challenging, and many people are asking about this treatment, after hearing about how effective it can be in helping with weight loss.

We appreciate that this might feel frustrating, especially when private options are being advertised. Until then, please do not contact your GP or Community Pharmacy (or any other NHS healthcare provider) to access this medicine as they are currently unable to prescribe this.
