The bringing in of the tree at Christmas is an ancient ritual connecting us to its pagan roots and our connection and reliance on nature. Itβs a wonderful opportunity to remember and celebrate.
I used to sell Xmas trees π² I donβt anymore. We have lovely small tree in a pot, we have had the tree for five years, it comes in for 21 days a year then happily lives in the garden. Like an old friend.
My friend who used to sell me the trees is also going to stop selling after this year. He works in the land all year round. He says the industry is toxic, the amount of chemicals in the ground, the destruction abd also the cheap hard labour, has very little to do with the Christmas spirit, but just more endless consumerism and waste. Plus in January they are just piled up like corpses of a Christmas past.
Maybe think of another way to celebrate the tree of life, get a potted one or even not a real one, but one you keep for many years.
Yule be happy you did it! π²
