🌸**CALLING ALL PLANT ENTHUSIASTS **🌸
**Urgent Help Needed…**
You may have noticed that Cottingham station is being spruced up with volunteers and staff from our organisation painting fences and planting flowers ready for Yorkshire in Bloom.
Now it’s your turn to get involved…
Are you - or anyone you know - a keen Gardener & could help us out with some donations of shrubs or perennials that we could plant at the station?
If so, please could you drop them at our office on Platform 1, Cottingham train station between 9.30am & 2.30pm today or tomorrow.
We have a judge coming on Thursday so would appreciate all the help we can get!

Today we have been out in the beautiful sunshine, filling the planters & troughs along the station platform in preparation for the Yorkshire in Bloom judging in July.

A huge shout out to:

All our lovely staff and volunteers as well as Councillor Kevin Casson & Cheryl Beal, Town Centre Officer at the Cottingham Parish Council, who have all taken the time to come and help us.

Cottingham Parish Council for their collaboration and part funding of this project.

Northern for their collaboration.

Rachel from the Yorkshire Coast Community Rail Partnership for their continued support.

Warwick brothers for kindly building the wonderful wooden planters.

Southwood Garden Centre who were our hanging baskets supplier & O’brien’s Nurseries Hull, who were our flower supplier.

Howarth Timber for providing us storage space and materials.

UK Sandbags for the kind donation of compost.

This has been a hugely collaborative project & we thank you all for your involvement which has made this possible!

One of our wonderful Work Recovery Coaches, Glen, is running the Hull 10K this Sunday, raising money for Working for Health CIC. Glen has worked with us for five years, starting off as a volunteer & progressing to the role he’s in now, providing valuable to support to countless clients over the years.

For those who don’t know, we are an organisation based at Cottingham train station, with hubs in Hull & Selby, helping people with mental health conditions find employment as well as running groups to improve clients confidence & wellbeing such as art, allotment, & gaming.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme this year being 'Communities', highlighting the important part communities can play in fostering good mental health such as reducing isolation, establishing good relationships and providing access to resources.
