PYJAMA APPEAL

I was told about a young boy. He’d been brought into hospital by social services with only the clothes on his back. He was given two pairs of pyjamas. At the end of his week-long-stay he made his bed, neatly folding up the pyjamas and placing them at the foot. The nurse remarked to him how nicely he’d folded them.

“But these are yours to keep,” she said.

The little boy burst into tears. He’d never even owned a pair of pyjamas

Frederick W Paine Funeral Directors will be a collection point for the Pyjama Appeal until 30th November.

Do please drop a pair of new unused pajamas (from age newborn to 18 years) to any of our funeral homes and the charity will donate them to hospitals, hospices, refuges to help another child smile

Frederick W Paine Funeral Directors are proud to be supporting the Children’s Hospital Pyjamas! Appeal.

The charity began when Charmaine Green’s daughter was diagnosed with cancer and received a thoughtful gift while she was an in-patient. Charmaine was so touched and appreciative of this gesture - she started collecting and donating gifts herself …. Beginning with just one hospital the charity now supports 248 establishments.

These gifts can mean everything to a child, those feeling terribly poorly or overwhelmed - or perhaps coming from a home situation they have never had a new pair of pjs to call their own.

Please do help if you can by bringing a brand new pair of unused pyjamas into any branch of Frederick W Paine before 30th November

Because no child wants to be in hospital, but if they have to be they want to be wearing brand new cosy PJs

Well done to our lovely Frederick W Paine ladies that walked and fundraised for the Kingston Hospital Night To Remember event Saturday evening

Night to Remember is a very special sponsored walk offering an opportunity for family and friends to remember a loved whilst walking through the night. Participants choose between a scenic 1, 6.5 or 13 mile fixed route, starting and finishing in the ancient Market Place, Kingston upon Thames.

We are thrilled these ladies have managed to raise over £1,000 which will help extend support for bereaved families at Kingston Hospital.

Princess Alice Hospice shops rely on donations. If you are decluttering or having a clear out please don’t throw away your unwanted items - donate them! They'll raise much needed money to help keep their services free

A lovely comment received at FW Paine Worcester Park this week

The family wanted to express their gratitude as they had been concerned that due to a limited number of people attending the service, the hymns they had chosen would be very quiet.

Their mum loved music and for them it was a really important element of the service. They wanted to convey how much they had really appreciated that Funeral Director Quentin had joined the mourners to sing the hymns, his lovely deep voice filled the space, lifting and encouraging others to join in.

Dawn and Sally from Frederick W Paine Surbiton were very proud to attend The Royal British Legion church service at Surbiton Hill Methodists Church for the Anniversary of VJ Day

Following the service of remembrance there were wreaths laid at the War Memorial with a
2 minute silence to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day and the end of the Second World War

Our FSO Gordon Philip acted as a Standard Bearer, a role which he was honoured to repeat representing British Legion Surbiton at a service held at Guildford Cathedral on Sunday.
