Galsworthy House Nursing Home

Galsworthy House Nursing Home Galsworthy House, Kingston Upon Thames offers residential, nursing & dementia care. Once owned by Sir John Galsworthy, author of The Forsyte Saga.

A beautiful period property, with stunning views over Richmond Park, in Kingston Upon Thames. Sensitively restored and you'll find first-class facilities with exciting activities, and plenty of places to relax or entertain. On warmer days, our gardens are a lovely place to sit and chat to visitors or help with planting or watering flowers. Everyone enjoys a change of scene now and again, so residents love to browse in the local shops and have lunch in the cafes and cosy pubs as well as regular outings to Hampton Court Palace or into the bright lights of London. New residents can use our designated, safe admission suites and benefit from a personalised wellbeing plan during their initial 14 days. If you're a little unsure of what type of care is needed, we're happy to help with the details.

Caring for a loved one living with dementia is an act of deep love, but it’s not always easy. Sometimes, even the most devoted carers need a moment to breathe.

Respite care offers a gentle pause and allows time for you to rest and recharge, while your loved one is surrounded by kindness, familiar routines, and expert dementia support.

We understand how hard it can be to trust someone else with care, even for a short time – lots of us have relatives that depend on us for care ourselves – and at Aria Care, every respite stay is shaped around the person. Our ethos of caring from the heart means that we want to get to know residents, even if their stay is a matter of days or weeks, so we can make their time with us feel like home.

Take a moment to see how respite care can support both you and your loved one:

🎉 Crowning Culinary Excellence! 👨‍🍳✨

A huge congratulations to Simon Boyden from Knowle Park in Cranleigh, who has been crowned Aria Care’s Chef of the Year 2025! 🏆

In the thrilling final at Brakes’ innovation centre in Reading, six talented chefs went head-to-head, but it was Simon’s incredible menu, including a standout pan-fried hake with a spinach and brie cream sauce and a seasonal pumpkin millefeuille, that wowed the judges.

👏 “Simon’s creativity, attention to detail, and understanding of our residents’ needs truly stood out,” said James Clear, Aria’s Hospitality Director.

This annual competition celebrates the passion and care our chefs bring to every dish, making mealtimes truly special for our residents. 🍽️

Today, on World Food Day, we celebrate the food we serve, but also our chefs who craft seasonal dishes that ensure each meal looks appealing, and is healthy and satisfying. Aria Care's catering teams don't just cook food, they create meals that are nutritious, and reminiscent of home cooking. They plan meticulously, catering to everyone's tastes and dietary needs, using fresh, quality ingredients.

We believe that mealtimes are about more than food; they’re moments of joy, creativity, and connection, that bring our communities to life.

Here at Galsworthy house, we form quiet bonds through small acts of care- a shared smile , a gentle word, a helping hand. When someone leaves us, we grief not only the loss of life, but the loss of those everyday moments we shared with them.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we're taking a moment to reflect on how we can continue to build a culture of care that supports not just our residents, but also the incredible teams who care for them every day.

One of this year’s themes is about prioritising mental health in the workplace, something we are deeply committed to across all our homes.

As the care sector continues to evolve, we’re introducing new ways to support mental health and emotional wellbeing, with support available to all colleagues, whenever it’s needed.

Whether it’s a personal challenge or a work-related worry, we offer access to a confidential counselling service 24/7 — by phone or online — offering a safe space to talk, day or night.

This World Mental Health Day, and every day, we stand together to support, uplift and care for one another.

🌟 We’re so proud! 🌟

As we look ahead to the Love Laundry Awards tomorrow, we want to take a moment to recognise some of the unsung heroes in care – our amazing housekeeping and laundry teams.

These incredible individuals work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our homes are clean, comfortable, and safe, playing a vital role in infection control, dignity in care, and the everyday wellbeing of our residents.

We’re absolutely thrilled that Sharon from Belmont House and Paul, our Group Hospitality Manager, have been named as finalists in this year’s awards!

✨ Sharon is shortlisted for the Environmental Sustainability Champion award for her commitment to greener laundry practices.

✨ Paul is recognised in the Laundry Leadership category for his vision, dedication, and impact across our homes.

These awards are all about celebrating the people who go above and beyond every single day, and we couldn’t be prouder of Sharon, Paul, and all our teams.

Good luck tomorrow, and thank you for everything you do. You are truly appreciated.
