Understanding parents’ experiences of care for their babies is important to us. It helps us improve our services to best suit their needs.

If your baby had neonatal care in June, July or August 2025, you may be invited to take part in the Neonatal Care Experience Survey. If you are invited, you will get a letter with more information. Please take part to help shape NHS services for future parents.

For more information on the survey, visit nhsneonatalsurvey.co.uk

Today is HPV awareness day. HPV (human papillomavirus) is a very common virus, and most people will have it at some point in their lives. While for most of us it is not harmful, some types are linked to several kinds of cancer.
The most effective way to protect against HPV is through the HPV vaccine.

If your illness or injury is less urgent, you will be waiting longer and we may redirect you to another service.

Our urgent treatment centre (UTC) in Teddington provides medical help when it's not a life-threatening emergency, and is open 8am to 8pm.

Measles is highly infectious and can be passed on even before a rash appears.

Protect yourself from becoming seriously unwell by making sure you are up to date with your MMR vaccinations.

🌟 January Volunteer of the Month 🌟

Please join us in celebrating our January Volunteer of the Month, Trudy Barker!

Trudy could not be more deserving of this recognition. She carries out a number of roles across the hospital and was awarded this month’s title for her outstanding dedication as a Ward Helper on Hamble Ward.

Please see below the nomination citation:

Trudy is a volunteer on Hamble ward and every time she’s in the ward she’s like a ball of sunshine with a smile on her face and helping hand. She’s always helping out during meal times and always makes sure to cheer on the staff are during busy times.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Trudy for her positivity, kindness, and commitment! You are a very deserving winner.

🌟 December Volunteer of the Month 🌟

Please join us in congratulating our (slightly belated!) December Volunteer of the Month winners, the wonderful Volunteer Gardening Team.

The team received multiple nominations from both staff and fellow volunteers in recognition of their dedication to maintaining the four main areas of Kingston Hospital's gardens, cared for by our volunteers. Their hard work and commitment have made a beautiful, lasting impact on these spaces.

Here’s just one of the many glowing nominations they received:

“The team worked really hard throughout the summer, first on new planting and then on weeding and seemingly endless watering which they kept up without fail. The result speaks for itself.”

Thank you to the Gardening Team for your continued enthusiasm and the care you bring to our gardens. We’re so grateful for all that you do 🙏

We are seeing a rise in measles cases in parts of England.

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious illness.

We’re encouraging parents to check their children are up to date with their vaccinations. Check your child's red book or speak to their GP practice.
