What to expect when starting your fitness journey……..
Here’s what you can expect as you get back your fitness.
First let’s define what it means to “be fit.” This is a definition that is going to look different for everyone. For some, it may mean having the strength and mobility to be able to perform a particular routine at the gym while for others, it may mean having the strength and mobility to complete activities of daily living with ease and without assistance. Generally, “being fit” is defined as a state of physical and mental health that supports physical activity needed to help prevent chronic disease.
There will be times in our lives when we can not maintain a certain level of fitness, and rightfully so. Even professional athletes don’t maintain a certain level of fitness every day. Injuries may happen, that winter cold or flu may sneak up on us, or life simply is a little too busy. We hear ya, during these times priorities have to shift, and thus, you have to shift what your daily exercise routine looks like. Regardless, regaining fitness per your definition is achievable with consistency and an understanding of the tissue adaptations necessary to get you there.
