During a Cranio-Sacral Therapy session, clients will sometimes say,

“I can’t feel my arms or legs!”

What they were really feeling was their body finally letting go of the tension it had been holding for years.

When the nervous system begins to soften, sensations can change. Sometimes that feels like lightness, sometimes tingling, sometimes a deep stillness.

It’s not a loss — it’s a sign that the body is releasing, recalibrating, and finding safety again.

This is how the body speaks when it begins to heal. ✨

A beautiful transformation in just 3 sessions ✨

This little 6-month-old girl came to see me with plagiocephaly — a common condition where a baby’s head develops a flat spot or asymmetry.

It can happen when babies spend a lot of time resting on one part of their head, often due to tightness in the neck or shoulders (often linked to birth position or early tension in the body).

Through gentle Cranio-Sacral Therapy sessions, we helped to ease those areas of tightness and restore better balance through her neck, shoulders and cranium.

You can see how beautifully her head shape has rounded out — her whole system feels more relaxed, and she’s moving more freely too. 💛

🌿 Tips for supporting babies with plagiocephaly:
• Encourage regular tummy time to strengthen the neck, shoulders and back
• Offer varied positions for play, feeding and sleeping (supervised)
• Alternate which arm you hold or feed your baby on
• Give your baby plenty of floor time to explore and move freely
• If you notice any tightness, preference to turn one way, or flattening, gentle Cranio-Sacral Therapy can help release those restrictions early on

Every baby’s journey is different, but with early support their amazing ability to adapt and rebalance never fails to inspire me. 💫

Thank you to this lovely mum for sending these gorgeous photos and allowing me to share her baby’s progress. 🤍

Sometimes you can see the moment a baby releases built-up birth tension — a big sigh, a stretch, a softening through their whole little body. 💛

Cranio-Sacral Therapy helps babies unwind the strain from birth, supporting easier feeding, settling, and sleep.

I’m now offering home visits every other Friday morning for newborns and young babies in Hampton Wick, Teddington, Twickenham, Hampton, Hampton Hill, Strawberry Hill, Thames Ditton, and Hampton Court — so your baby can stay relaxed in their own familiar space.

✨ Spaces are limited for these Friday home visits — link in bio to book.

Sometimes a client realises… they don’t actually want to let go of their anxiety.

As the anxiety softens, other emotions often rise — grief, sadness, even old trauma. And while anxiety can feel uncomfortable, it’s also familiar. Facing what lies beneath can feel heavier than the anxiety itself.

This isn’t failure. It’s part of the healing journey. ✨

Cranio-sacral therapy creates a gentle, safe space for your nervous system to process what’s been buried — so you can move through the layers of emotion and begin to heal.❤️

This photo was taken 20 years ago when my daughter was only a few days old. Just me and my tiny girl, curled up together in that first haze of motherhood. I remember being so tired, so in awe, and so full of love I thought my heart might burst. 💖

Today, she turns 20 years old and somehow those long nights and endless feeds turned into years filled with laughter, learning, and growing alongside her. She has taught me more about love, resilience, and what really matters in life than I could ever have imagined back then.

Now, two decades later, I have the privilege of walking alongside other mums and their babies in those very first, tender days. I know how overwhelming and beautiful it can feel all at once — and I am always honoured to hold space for mothers as they find their way. ✨

✨Does your child struggle with emotional self-regulation, have difficulty getting to sleep or lack focus at school? If so it might be that your child has one or more retained Reflex that hasn’t fully
integrated.

✨Join myself and another leading Cranio-Sacral Therapist for an hour long webinar on Wednesday 25th September 2024 at 7.30pm where we will be diving into the world of Reflexes and what they can mean for your child or teenager if not fully integrated.

✨Many parents are told by their GP that these symptoms are simply as a result of Autism or ADHD and we are often astounded at the number of doctors who have no clue about retained reflexes or sensory integration. The result is that parents often have to spend thousands of pounds to obtain private specialised advice on reflexes and how to help their child whilst also having to navigate huge waiting lists for this specialised advice.

✨Retained reflexes can cause a number of issues such as:
• Hyperactivity
• Sensory Disorders
• Lack of focus
• Sleep problems
• Hypersensitivity
• Sensory Overload
• Poor Motor Skills

✨In this webinar, we’ll introduce you to Reflexes, why they are so important and most importantly some simple exercises about how to integrate them in order for your child to thrive.

✨We’ll also talk about sensory integration techniques such as Brain Gym & Rhythmic Movement.

We hope to see you there!✨💫

Today I treated 3 gorgeous girls who all have retained reflexes and sensory processing issues. Their mum told me she went to the GP for help but was told it was just autism or adhd and typical stimming behaviour and there was nothing she could do. It is crazy how many doctors have absolutely no clue what retained reflexes are and what simple exercises can be done at home in order to integrate them.

Retained reflexes can cause a number of issues such as:

Because of the number of clients that myself and see in our practice on a daily basis we bave decided to call our next parent webinar “an introduction to retained reflexes and sensory overload”

Watch this space for our next Hands on with Miki and Kate post explaining what parents will learn during our webinar such as exercises to
Improve sleep
Reduce sensory overload and hyperactivity
Improve focus and sitting still at school
Improve posture. co ordination and fine motor skills to improve hand writing

From the very first day to the last - my daughter Daisy’s final day at and end of school forever! To say I am feeling a bit emosh is an understatement. One minute you’re wiping sticky fingers, wrestling with French braids (sorry Daisy Dowling I never got them right!) and scrambling for book bags and then suddenly it’s all done!

I’ve been told I mustn’t ‘be embarrassing’ or ‘ugly cry’ at the end of year show tonight. Can’t promise that. Pass the tissues! 😅
