Does this sound familiar? Years of random symptoms becoming persistent and sometimes debilitating. Looking for answers from doctors again and again but all your tests are clear...there is ‘apparently’ nothing wrong. Feeling, worried, fearful, frustrated & angry because according to your tests, ‘you are fine’ BUT you know you are not!
You explain how you feel time and time again, not only to doctors but to friends and family, who perhaps with the best will in the world, just can’t understand.
Finally, you hear a diagnosis...Fibromyalgia...Fibro What? At least there’s a diagnosis right and you feel relieved that you are not going crazy. But the problem is the diagnosis is really a new label for all the symptoms you are living with, it doesn’t mean there’s a cure or a definitive treatment. Your doctor suddenly doesn’t have the answers for you, or the time to help you because fibro does not fit neatly into the conventional medical model. You are left feeling lonely and in limbo, not knowing where to turn for help, or even if there is any. I was here in 2014 and my life was spiraling out of control.
I trawled through fibro group after group, posts of doom and gloom, people in agony desperate for help and just as lost as I was. I felt some sort of support, at least these people knew what I was living with. But the only support here is to stay right where you are, in the fibro abyss...with all the negativity you’re not getting out anytime soon.
Life hit rock-bottom, I couldn’t go on any more. Fibro had taken over everything. As a mum to six children (2 now grown up and moved to their own homes), and running my home & business, it was all too much and something had to give, so I gave up my business. I dragged through each day, just hoping and praying life would get better. But how could it when I wasn’t changing anything.
The day I decided to take my health into my own hands was the day I started to get my life back! And there began my journey. It was a very, very long, tough, exhausting, frustrating and lonely journey. Now I have 95% quality of life back and I am passionate about helping others do the same, without all the loneliness, frustration and pain. Your journey can be much more simple and faster.
Just imagine how would it feel when you got your quality of life back. What would your life look like? What would you be doing that you can’t do now?
Here’s how I work help women turn down the pain, fog & fatigue, build their confidence and get their lives back.
I take a different view point to many other coaches who ‘fight’ fibro. I believe that fighting is mainly what got us here in the first place and that’s the last thing we have the energy to do, I believe pain means a problem that needs our attention and we need to become ‘fibro listeners’ in order to feel better. Does this mean giving up and giving into fibro? No you can read more here; https://thehealingwithin.co.uk/fibro-listener/
You are no longer alone or a passive bystander, we work as a team and as we take this journey together.
It’s all about how you feel and very important to take the journey at your pace. There are six specific steps incorporating a certain amount of sessions in each:
Time to Share our first session is a getting to know you session. You can finally talk about how you really feel without judgement and with understanding. It’s all about finding out where you are right now.
Exploring & Resolving Emotional and/or Traumatic Events in Life - even if these happened when you were a child, if they are unresolved at any point in life they will manifest as illness and more often than not some type of chronic condition. Resolving these issues will take a huge burden off your mind & body.
Taking You Back - fibromyalgia can take over every part of your life, controlling every thing you do and you forget who you truly are. You are not your illness. Together we find you again, what’s important to you and you value, what you believe. Beliefs and values are our driving forces in life and can help or harm you.
Let’s Create Your Pull - Your Wellness Vision - how will you feel when fibromyalgia is turned down so much you hardly notice it? What would your life look like? Having a crystal clear vision of this will help pull you towards the life that you want to be living.
Turning Down the Pain & Fog - using a method that is grounded in the latest scientific knowledge surrounding chronic pain, we will work together to turn down the pain you are living with. You can read more here: https://thehealingwithin.co.uk/home/oldpain2go/
6. New Choices - New Lifestyle - here is where we work together, at your pace learning to make healthy choices that become healthy habits and lead to your lifestyle change. We will focus on nutrition, exercise, pacing and last but definitely not least your sleeping habits.
After these 6 Steps you will feel amazing and be living the life you want to be living.
I offer a free 20 minute chat to see if and how I can help you, and to answer any questions you may have. So please do get in touch and we can arrange a good day and time to talk.
If you are not quite ready for coaching, I offer lots of support, motivation and information focused on feeling so much better with fibro here on The Healing Within Fibromyalgia Face Book Page and on my website https://thehealingwithin.co.uk/ .
A little note about medication. For me it was a last resort and I did take medication for a while, but I ended up going from a size 14 to 22, couldn’t string a sentence together, felt permanently high, had no mobility and was still in agony. It just didn’t work and I don’t believe this is a long-term solution to fibro. However, that being said, it is totally a personal choice whether you take medication or not and any changes have to be discussed with your medical doctor. Implementing any of the 6 Steps to turning down fibromyalgia will not affect any medication you are taking, but if you are worried please do consult your doctor first. What have you got to lose? And I can say from personal experience that you have so much to gain.
Have a wonderful day.
