The long festive season might make it feel like healthy eating is out the window…
but it doesn’t have to be! Eating out can be easy if you know what to pick…
👇 👇 👇

✅ Fill up on the good stuff
Go for a starter + main (or just a main!) and skip dessert.
Swap bread for olives, enjoy one glass of good wine and drink plenty of water.
✅ Watch out for hidden sugar
Sauces, dips & pickles can be full of it — choose wisely!
✅ Load up on veggies
Order extra salad or veggies with your meal.
✅ Avoid fried foods
Opt for grilled, baked, or steamed options instead.
You don’t need to be perfect — just balanced.

Stay mindful, feel great and enjoy December! ❤️✨

Did you know that stress can have a huge impact on your gut health?
When we’re stressed, our digestion slows down, our gut bacteria can become imbalanced and inflammation can increase — all of which affect how we feel, think and even sleep.

That’s why self-care and mindfulness aren’t luxuries — they’re essential for a healthy gut and a calm mind. ✅

Here are a few of my favourite self-care practices this season:
🧡 Heart-focused breathing
🧡 Meditation
🧡 A walk in the park
🧡 A relaxing Epsom salt bath
🧡 7–8 hours of quality sleep
🧡 Time in the sauna to unwind and detox

Small, consistent moments of calm can have a powerful effect on your gut, your mood and your overall wellbeing — especially during the busy festive season.

In November, we explored the power of purple, white and green foods — and how each colour supports your health in different ways.

So it only feels right that this December, we shine a light on red foods — vibrant, nourishing and perfect for the festive season! 🎄

Red foods are rich in phytonutrients, which help protect the brain, heart and blood vessels and may even reduce the risk of certain cancers.

There’s no shortage of delicious red options to add to your meals:
🍎 Pomegranate seeds
🍓 Apples, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, cranberries, goji berries
🍅 Tomatoes, red peppers, beetroot, rhubarb, radishes, red onions
🌶 Kidney beans

These colourful foods don’t just brighten your plate — they’re packed with antioxidants that support circulation, boost energy and promote healthy ageing.
So, as we move through December, remember to add a splash of red to your plate — your body (and taste buds) will thank you! ❤️

With darker evenings and shorter days, many people begin to feel their energy dip — and for about 5% of the population, this can develop into Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

If you notice lower energy levels, sluggishness, or a low mood during the winter months, try to spend more time outdoors and soak up as much natural light as you can.

But when that’s not possible (and let’s face it, winter weather doesn’t always make it easy!), you may benefit from using a daylight lamp to help boost your mood and energy.

There are plenty of options out there, but one I personally recommend and use is the Save the Day Lamp — it’s a simple, effective way to bring a little sunshine indoors.

During the busy December season, it’s easy to reach for processed foods — but take a moment to read the labels. You might be surprised by how many hidden sugars they contain (there are more than 50 different names for sugar!).

Highly processed foods and refined sugars can contribute to inflammation and stress in the body. In contrast, a nutrient-rich, whole-food diet helps support overall health, steady energy and healthy ageing.

And remember, eating well doesn’t have to be complicated. When you’re short on time, a simple stir fry is one of my favourites. Just toss in prawns, chicken, or any protein you love for a quick, nourishing meal.

Roasted Parsnip, Leek & Celeriac Soup

Creamy, comforting, and full of winter warmth — the perfect bowl to balance out the festive sparkle.

Ingredients:
2 parsnips, peeled & chopped
½ celeriac, peeled & diced
2 leeks, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp thyme
800ml vegetable stock
Salt & pepper to taste

To make:
Roast parsnips and celeriac with olive oil and thyme until golden.
Sauté leeks until soft, then add roasted veg and stock.
Simmer 15 minutes, blend until smooth, and season.
Serve with a swirl of yogurt and a sprinkle of toasted seeds.

Warm, mindful and perfectly seasonal — just like December should be.

Back in September, I talked about September being like a New Year — a perfect time to reset and refocus.

And I’ve loved hearing from so many of you about the progress you’ve made since then — you should be so proud! 🙌

But now December is here… and with it come the parties, the treats and that all-too-familiar “I’ll start again in January” mindset.

✨ This is your gentle reminder ✨
Don’t undo all your amazing work.

Stay mindful, stay consistent — and remember, progress doesn’t mean perfection.

This month, let’s lean into the season and celebrate with foods that truly shine in winter:
🥦 Celeriac, Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, pak choi, parsnips, and winter cabbages (Savoy, red, white)
🍎 Apples, cranberries, medlars, pears, and quinces — crisp, sweet, and full of flavour

Keep it simple. Keep it seasonal. Keep it nourishing. 💚

At the start of the month, I asked if you could eat 30 different plants in a week — so tell me… how did you get on? Was it easier or harder than you expected? 👀

This month we’ve explored the amazing benefits of some colourful foods —
🤍 White, 💜 Purple and 💚 Green —
each offering their own unique nutrients and health benefits.

Studies show that people who eat a wide variety of plant foods have a lower risk of chronic disease. 🌸

That’s thanks to phytonutrients — powerful natural compounds in plants that:
✨ Support your immune and cardiovascular systems
✨ Help with detoxification
✨ Promote healthy hormone balance and estrogen metabolism

So the more colour and variety you add to your plate, the more you nourish your body — inside and out. 🌿

How many different plants did you manage this week? Let me know below! 👇

When it comes to detoxification and supporting your liver, green foods can make a big difference.

If you’ve been feeling fatigued, struggling with sleep, getting headaches, or sweating more than usual, these can be signs your liver could use a little extra love. 💫

Try adding more of these green detox-supporting foods into your meals:
🥦 Broccoli
🥬 Kale
🌱 Rocket
🥑 Avocado
🌿 Spinach
🥬 Brussels sprouts

These greens help your liver process and eliminate toxins, support energy and keep your body in balance.
Your liver works hard for you every day — give it some love back with a plate full of green goodness! 💚
