In celebration of International Nurses Day, we want to say thank you to all the nurses across the world for the incredible work you do every single day — supporting residents in critical conditions, in care homes, home care, domiciliary care, and every setting where compassionate clinical expertise is needed most.
Here at Coombe, we especially want to thank all of our nurses for your dedication to our residents, your commitment to Coombe, and for the long journey many of us have shared together. Your professionalism, kindness, and resilience make an enormous difference to the lives of those in our care.

It's great to get out and about at the best of times but even more special when the weather is as glorious as it currently is. Today, some of our residents enjoyed a trip out to the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. This 40 acre woodland garden was established in 1830 however was first opened to the general public in 1953. So lovely to see so many colours on display, backed up with some wonderful smiles - everyone had an amazing time

Yesterday some of our residents enjoyed a wonderful day out at Denbies Wine Estate, which is one of England's largest single estate vineyards, boasting 265 acres and has a production capacity of 1 million bottles. So lovely to see all the grapes vines basking in the glorious sunshine and the residents fully immersing themselves in the experience

Not only are we celebrating National Gardening Week here at Coombe Hill Manor, we are also now firmly in Battle of the Blooms week 🌸🌿 – a portfolio-wide initiative across Signature Care Homes, bringing everyone together to make our outdoor spaces come alive following the long winter period.

The focus is week will be on a garden and patio area which is accessed through our bright and sunny Garden Room. This space is where our Gardening Club regularly meet so it seemed a natural progression to freshen up this area first which also enjoys elevated views across our secluded rear gardens.

With newly painted raised planters which are bursting with colour, we look forward to seeing how the end finish will look.

Special thanks to Sarah, our Regional Hospitality Manager, who kindly came to Coombe Hill Manor today to lend a hand. As quite rightfully pointed out by Sarah, hospitality doesn't stop when you come outside!

Watch out for more developments as this week unfolds - or better still, come in and pay us a visit to see for yourself.

Yesterday evening's St George's Day Pub quiz featured a bar stocked full of English beer, cider and wine all sourced from within 20 miles of Coombe Hill Manor. Special thanks to Wimbledon Brewery, Hogs Back Brewery and Denbies Wine Estate. The Residents were not disappointed! Hats off to the winning team "Pam's People" who scored a whopping 49/50!

Within our Assisted Living community, we boast a range of room choices from a Studio, 1 Bed Apartment, 1 Bed Deluxe Suite and even a prestigious 2 Bed Suite. All rooms benefit from a well designed open plan kitchenette area and a carefully thought out en-suite shower room to suit a variety of care needs. The majority of our Deluxe suites also provide a private patio or balcony which is perfect to sit out and enjoy a drink/meal during the summer months ahead. In anticipation of National Gardening Week (27th April to 3rd May), a few of our residents were busy over the weekend by starting some planting outside of our prestigious Garden Room. This is a lovely, secluded area which benefits from a south westerly aspect so just right when the sun is out to support the growth of our raised planter beds and hanging plants. With even more of a makeover due next week, watch out for other exciting developments we have planned - Summer must be on it's way!

Coombe Hill Manor has recently undergone a refurbishment of many of our communal areas. Much planning, attention to detail and expert delivery has led to the quality finish all our residents are currently enjoying. It was a pleasure consulting with our residents and residents' families as the project evolved, never forgetting of course that respectfully it is their home. Alongside our Monet's and Bistro restaurants, our makeover extended to our Library, Activities Room, Garden Room and Lounge areas. Furthermore, we have proudly introduced a Wellness Studio designed to enhance the residents' experience when it comes to exercise, physiotherapy and wellness services - perfect for anyone seeking post-operation or rehabilitation support.
