SILS SiLS is an organisation providing support services across the South and South West of England. Our services are for adults with support needs.

SiLS provides person-centred support services for adults with support needs. Over the last 25 years we have been growing our friendly team of staff and clients and can now proudly say we support over 20% of all long term outreach clients in Bristol. What we mean by care or support:

If you need care, you have someone to look after you and provide for your needs. If you need support, you have someone to help you do things for yourself. This includes adults who have physical or sensory impairments, learning difficulties, mental health issues, frail older people and people who for any other reason are unable to care for or protect themselves. We most often provide services to adults with learning difficulties and adults with mental health support needs. How can SiLS support you?

•Planning support to be individually tailored to your personal goals and lifestyle.
•Managing money.
•Daily living; shopping, cooking, cleaning etc.
•Creating and sustaining relationships with family and friends.
•Work and education opportunities.
•Living an all-round balanced and healthy lifestyle including exercise and nutrition.
•Keeping safe within your home and community.
•Talking on your behalf through the phone/in meetings/at appointments.
•To support you with moving on; in whatever way that means to you. Our 7 main principles are there to make sure that you:

• Have your rights
• Have choice
• Have privacy
• Are valued for who you are
• Have the opportunity to have a fulfilling life
• Can take part in your own community if you wish
• Have independence even if there is some risk

I would like to introduce you to a service user of SILS who kindly shared some words about what she thought about us!✨

‘I like how sils has helped me gain more independence. Sils have helped my confidence grow and helped me recognise my self worth. I get out more and do different activities like going into the town centre more often! Support workers have helped me achieve small and large goals such as improving mental health and managing finances.’

We are hiring!

Please apply via email by sending your CV and cover letter to: info@mysils.co.uk

Look forward to meeting you!

•Job description:
We work with many adult client groups; learning difficulties, mental health needs, older people, younger people and also some adults with physical disabilities. We don't provide any personal care- just support to improve lives. As we work across Bristol- own transport is essential (electric bikes and legal scooters ok).

Experience of supporting adults is preferred, but much more importantly, we would like to employ someone who is passionate about improving the lives of adults with a support need. So if you have no experience, but you think you are what we're looking for then please send us your CV! We would also encourage you to add a covering letter or note to your application, particularly if you feel you have less experience. These demonstrate you are interested and help us to get to know you a little better.

We are very proud to be an organisation that people enjoy working for. As you'd expect, we put our clients first. But we strongly believe that in order to give the best possible service to our clients, we need to provide the best possible service to our team. So to that end, we will spent alot of time supporting, training and developing you.

We also work very sociable hours (unlike some care related jobs). The full time working hours are Monday to Friday, during office hours (37.5 hours per week). The part time hours can pretty much be chosen by you.

In return we pay £21 060- £23 985 (dependant on how challenging your clients are). The comparison for hourly rate is £10.80- £12.30 per hour.

Say hello to one of our longest service users💫
We asked for a few words about what she thinks of SiLS!
‘I’ve been with SiLS for a long time, around 10 years, I first joined to improve my independence which I’m doing. When I starting having support Jill helped me a lot with organising my home and Sheree has also helped me to follow recipes.
I like the support I get from SiLS, the support workers I’ve had are very friendly!’😃✨
