Why does winter weather lead to dry skin?
Dry patches of skin, especially those on the face, can occur more frequently during the winter months.

This is caused by skin dehydration, which can be influenced by a range of factors, including:

Cold weather and wind- the skin needs to be well hydrated to stay healthy. When your skin loses moisture, the outer layers can become dehydrated, and this leads to dry skin patches. In the winter weather, wind and cold conditions can be the source of this dehydration on the outer skin layers, especially those most exposed to the elements

Changes in temperature- humidity changes between warm heated buildings and the cold weather outside can also lead to dry skin developing on the face, as the skin struggles to adapt to the two extremes of temperature.
