Neck
5 things that actually help improve posture:
1. Get your mid back moving again
A stiff thoracic spine pushes the head forward and overloads the lower back. Gentle rotation and extension give the spine more freedom.
2. Build strength in the muscles that hold you up
Strong glutes, hamstrings, and upper back make it easier to stay upright without effort.
3. Improve shoulder blade control
When the shoulder blades move and stabilize better, neck tension often drops and the upper back can move more naturally.
4. Fix the way you breathe
Shallow breathing and flared ribs lock the body into poor posture. Slow nasal breathing and full exhales help stack the rib cage over the pelvis again.
5. Practice posture while moving, not holding
Carrying, hinging, rowing, and split squats teach the body how to organize itself under load. Forcing “good posture” doesn’t last.
Better posture comes from better support, not constant reminders.
