Footy 1 to 1s for the wee ones 🙌 Alfie kid loved going to these. 🎉

Hi everyone. I am starting up my own coaching business that specialises in one-to-one and one-to-two football training for all ages and abilities. My sessions will take place in Aviemore at the 3G football pitch at Aviemore Community Centre.

✨️ M E D I T A T I O N ✨️

🩷 Maybe the goal is not always to be regulated.

✨️ The aim might be to hold our own in the dsyregulation, be able to observe it, & prevent chaos or some form of injury or harm.

🧘‍♀️The monthly Meditation & Bodyfulness Class offers time in physical stillness. We concentrate on mapping the nervous system, explore encouraging a spacious brain & create more freedom mentally.

✨️ By releasing tension in the sensitive brain tissues we allow more freedom for the cranial nerves, endocrine glands & spinal cord. Our breathing slows & the parasympathetic nerves increase.

🔥 Tonight we'll be blending some releasing movement in somatic exercises followed by seated meditation. Not always easy to sit in the silence 😬 🤯 We'll work our mental & emotional resilience & flexibility.

🧠 Getting to know the brain & the deeper connection of the gut-brain axis can be a game changer in our health... eventually we come to be within Anandamaya Kosha, a state of contentment.

In today's class we'll work through surya namaskar A & B followed by standing asana, closing with some exploration into back bending & shoulder stand prep.

Ashtanga offers a solid foundation when comes to building confidence in asana (yoga postures).

It offers a wonderful place to begin exploring chanting within practice.

Ashtanga can be a gateway into practicing in an embodied way, listening in to sensations as you move through the set sequence, practising breath & nervous system regulation as challenges arise.

There are many layers to it, this is 1 hour of exploring some of the practice! Beginners & all levels of experience welcome.

✨️ S O M A T I C S ✨️

One of the biggest game changers in my health journey has been learning about somatics. 🩷🙏

Adding layers of understanding as to why our movement might be restricted or feel painful and how we might gently explore reshaping or releasing some of the tension can be genuinely life changing. Feeling ease, trust and confidence in our bodies can take time and support but is totally worth it.

We've been enjoying a pelvis and hips focus in the studio over the last couple of weeks. Check out the image on the 4th slide to see the all mighty pelvis.

We'll continue exploring the hips in tomorrow's Anatomy Lab session. 🧘‍♀️

Forever grateful to yoga teacher trainings put together by Lucy Crawford and Caro Tautz. Both teachers have offered an incredible amount of resources, wisdom and knowledge from their time as manual therapists and yoga teachers.

✨️ Very excited to share Cairngorms Yoga Studio will be opening on the 8th of February.

Workshops & classes below 😊 this is a starting point for the Studio and I'm buzzing to share practices and be teaching more regularly again. And of course to welcome visiting teachers. ✨️💜

✨️ S E N D I N G L O V E ✨️

Grief has been a part of my story for quite some time. Sudden loss has rattled my bones, and my families, at different stages of my life. I spent a lot of time in my late teens and 20s totally terrified of losing people and not accepting but trying to find answers that simply weren't going to come. Then when I thought I'd mastered grief we lost Mum. The universe got me there! It feels important that we talk about grief, that we share experiences and know that it's something unique to each of us but also something that at the core of it all we have something in common and can hold space for one another.

Learning to live while missing loved ones can be tough, grief hits us in unexpected ways so I'm sending hunners of love to anyone feeling like they're on the outside or in a spell of disassociation at this time of year. I'm sending a lot of energy to the places lacking safety, the families torn apart by war and trapped with no time to grieve. 💔

I'm also sending love to the people finally feeling warm again, to the people finally feeling settled in life as it is now.

I'm sending lots of love and patience out over this festive. 🩷✨️

Winter and the festive period can be full on and an emotional time if you're missing a loved one or in thick of dealing with life stuff.

I've opened up some treatment times offering space to relax, settle down or get a boost depending on what you want from a treatment.

Ayurveda Yoga Massage is next level when it comes to releasing tension and grounding. It takes a holistic approach and the techniques are amazing for sports recovery, I was training for a half iron man while learning so I know from experience. 🙌 😊

When we relax physically, the mental and emotional can follow suit. 🩷✨️🙏

3 moves to boost your mood.

1. Keep the bottom leg bent if you prefer and the top foot can be kept on the floor. Focus on stretching the hand into the floor and engaging the side body closest to the floor. Breathe fully into the ribcage.

2. Trikonasana, ohhh it helps to tune into the outer side of the body, hello hip area and side of the abdomen! Allow yourself to focus on lengthening the spine.

3. Wee cuddle with the bolster, pop it over the abdomen, allow the hips to settle in a comfortable and relaxed position. Breathe gently into the belly.

🌊 N O U R I S H I N N A T U R E 🌊

Finally, my heart there once more,
in a place of feeling strong and sure.

Wrapped in the healing nature of the Cairngorms and Scottish adventures, comforted and cared for by the spacious landscapes.

Unexpected circumstances brought me North again, a loud calling from grief to be and accept love once more. Love in the family, to really be in my own skin and feel love within, to trust that I'm a safe and worthy place no matter of the storm.

In the mountains I feel secure yet tiny, a small aspect of such a huge world. In the rivers there is freedom in their adaptability, a connection to inner resilience that can hold me through whatever changes come.

I wasn't always this sure,
I wasn't really proud.
I heard it often, I just didn't feel it.
I shed the tears for the girl who didn't really know how to express her fears or how to work with insecurities.
Now fears encourage me to lean in, to move forward, release old ways and habits.
Insecurities show me where I am trapped in a lack mindset and nudge me to learn.

Forever grateful to this space, to health, to leaning in.
