Getting close to completing the first set of advice videos to sit alongside the clinic website. Rather than drawing pictures to help people remember what to do, I worked with Kirsty to create a series of ready reminders. Check out the website in the coming days to see what you think

This video is designed to help you work on your balance. After even a minor injury, we can tear the little nerve endings that give us a sense of our position...

Massive thanks to Kirsty who helped out with recording some exercise advice videos to act as a ready reminder for people attending my Physio clinic. Coming soon to my website www.kpsic.co.uk

One of Scotland's finest fitness coaches; sadly for us, heading back to Australia this month but still very much available on-line. Check her website - join up for a great range of approaches to improving the five key elements of fitness. www.bodyworxbalance.com.au

Kirsty invested a lot in various symptomatic therapies in the past without much lasting benefit. However, through working together, we analysed her movement patterns, diagnosed the underlying issues, applied carefully targeted manual therapy and modified her exercise technique. Interestingly, Kirsty has found helpful enough that she has incorporated the learning into her BWXB classes. Happily, Kirsty is managing better and will be passing the top tips on to her online clients and face to face, once she gets back to the sunshine.

Bodyworx Balance is founded by Kirsty Nelson. It is a culmination of her extensive training and experience in fitness, pilates, yoga, meditation and barre that provides a unique offering.

Covid 19 update 2

Following most recent government guidelines, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy has provided updated advice.

Face to Face Physiotherapy treatment available where there is no effective alternative. Please call for an initial conversation - be prepared to be screened for high temperature at the front door. Enhanced infection control measures in place. Please wear a face mask.

It is great to see people beginning to come forward for advice and Physio treatment again after the recent weeks of lock-down. Proud to live and work in a place where people are so willing to consider the safety of others and to adapt to new practices designed to prevent spread of the virus.

Modern technology and electronic communications are so useful in helping that important first conversation, even providing opportunity for advice and guidance before the first session.

Since so much of the Physio’s job is advising people how to help themselves, a phone conversation can go a long way towards speeding recovery. Please feel free to call if you need advice after an injury or if you are trying to recover from spinal, joint or soft tissue problems. The first call is free of charge and without obligation.

Covid 19 has affected all of us; nobody more than those families who have lost loved ones to the virus.

Like many other professional services, Physio clinics everywhere have been quiet as people have followed Scottish government guidance. As life begins to return to a new normal, Physiotherapists have received specific professional advice provided by the CSP and HCPC. Some things have had to change

A wider range of questions are asked on the telephone, treatment areas and equipment are cleaned thoroughly before each appointment, your temperature may be screened on arrival and you will be asked to wash your hands. Treatments that require close contact or hands-on contact require us to follow infection control measures such as frequent hand washing and use of protective equipment such as a mask and gloves.

However, normal life continues for most people and some still need help and advice. If you have had any joint or soft tissue injuries, back and neck pain during lock-down, if new exercise habits or too many on-line meetings have stirred up aches and pains that are not settling, please get in touch.

The first step is to text, call or email to arrange a free initial consultation.

I look forward to hearing from you

Rob
