Anxiety is normal - it keeps us safe. But sometimes we need to try something new or take a new path.
Breaking things down into small, manageable steps really helps. After all, “Rome was not built in a day”. Decide which step comes first, then what comes next. It doesn’t matter if you get it wrong - you are growing!
Self care is essential. Invest in yourself - prioritise sleep, find time for things you love, spend precious moments with loved ones. We are all on a journey - we cannot revisit the past so forward is the only way we can go. One small, considered step at a time.

It can save you time and money to book a discovery call with a therapist before you commit. Just 15 minutes, face to face or on the phone, can tell you volumes about whether this therapist is right for you.

Our moods change like the wind. It is natural to move from high to low and back again. However, a consistent low mood - feeling heavy and hopeless, can indicate that help is needed to get back on track. The good news is that hypnotherapy can help remove emotional blocks, strengthen inner resources, and navigate a path to inner sources of motivation, meaning, and a more positive outlook. It's not rocket science but actually a journey into what is already inside you - I just help people to map that pathway.

Trying to stop your thoughts is like trying to hold back the tide with a broom. You can't stop your mind from thinking. However, thoughts themselves are not a problem - it’s the type of thinking we do that can cause us to feel anxious, depressed or angry. Reframing our thoughts is a skill we can learn. The more we do it, the more the brain will automatically think in a more balanced way. A by-product of reframing negative thoughts is less stress and greater happiness - its as simple as that. For example, instead of "I'll never get this right," try "Learning takes time, and I'm making progress". Hypnotherapy can help train your mind to think more effectively - making you happier and able to enjoy life more.

I was grateful for my intelligent brain today - it helped me wrap what seemed like a mountain of presents, ice the Christmas cake and lay the table ready for tomorrow. If you’d told my teenage self that I’d one day feel calm and collected giving presentations or teaching yoga to a room full of people, I’d never have believed you. Back then, even singing in a choir would send me into a full-blown panic—my first instinct was always to bolt for the nearest exit!

Fast forward to today, and I’m grateful every day for the confidence I now have to stand up and share my ideas—whether that’s delivering a work presentation or guiding a group of yogis. The turning point for me? Hypnotherapy. It was truly life-changing. I remember thinking, “I’d love to help others in this way one day.” Life took me on a different path for a while: university, my first job, buying a house. But eventually, I found the chance to retrain and finally pursue my passion.

A huge thank you to CPHT and their brilliant lecturers for providing such a supportive, practical course—it genuinely prepares you to run your own hypnotherapy practice. Recently, I had the privilege of speaking to a group of students, sharing my journey and hopefully inspiring them to step out confidently and start building their own practices. If you’re considering a change, or struggling with confidence, know that transformation is possible.
