There’s still time for discussion before legislation is approved but the Scottish Government consultation, which was announced today, has advised:

- all injectable treatments (toxin, fillers, skin boosters), microneedling, chemical peels and IV drip therapy treatments can only be done in a clinic registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland. This is a rigorous process which took us many months and has patient safety as their number one priority.

- all non-medical or non-prescribing practitioners will have to be supervised by either a Doctor, Dentist, registered Pharmacist or registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (in an HIS clinic).

This news is long overdue but what a huge step forward in patient safety in Scotland!!

Scottish Law requires that all medical professionals who prescribe (and those that don’t) must work from a regulated Healthcare Improvement Scotland or NHS-regulated premises.

Anyone seeking anti-wrinkle treatments must attend an HIS-registered clinic for a FACE-TO-FACE consultation conducted by a prescribing medical professional.
