Wee are out and about 🥾

Our amazing Peer Support group, The Wee Group, were out and about today with an amazing visit to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, for a mindfulness walk around the town.

A huge thank you has to go out to Geraldine for showing us around, making us feel so welcome and for providing some brilliant information and laughs. Everyone had a fantastic time. 🫶

The Wee Group is a peer support programme for those living with long term health conditions, that meets every fortnight for a range of activities and trips. If you would like some information regarding please call Allan on 07519379428 or email allan@peninsulahealthyliving.org.

Fancy losing some weight before the summer? ☀️

Then join our new 8 week programme 'Walk this Weigh!'. Starting on Thursday 7th May at 9:30am here at Kircubbin Community Centre we will be leading a local walk followed by a full-body analysis weigh in.

The benefits of walking are enormous as it helps burn fat, control cholesterol levels, regulate your blood pressure, reduce stress, improve heart health, boost your immunity and even delay ageing, who doesn't want that?

Our full body analysis will include a health score, percentages of muscle mass, body mass, visceral fat, water content, your BMI, actual weight and even your metabolic age. Giving you all the numbers you need to help you make more positive life choices and achieve your ideal weight.

So pop along on Thursday morning at 9:30am and we will help you Walk this Weigh 👟

£2 suggested donation per week.

Life's a Circus 🎪

The amazing Nick from Streetwise Community Circus CIC was back with us today for a coffee in Carrowdore and what a laugh we had. We balanced some peacock feathers on our fingers, tossed some hats around the group and even juggled some scarves 🤣

It was an absolutely brilliant morning and we cannot thank Nick enough for popping along and teaching us some tricks we never knew we were capable of 💪

Such a great workout for the body and the mind.

What a pleasure it was to be asked to take some spin classes for our great friends St. Joseph's GAA Club, Ballycran for their Cransformation fitness initiative.

Lets Celebrate 🎊

Our recently completed, male only, Joinery programme with SERC held its celebration event today here in Kircubbin Community Centre. Can I say a massive thank to all the guys who took part for coming along and a huge well done for completing the programme, I am so proud of you all. Also to councillors Cllr. Pete Wray UUP and Joe Boyle for showing their support.

This initiative would not have been possible without the help, belief and funding from Catherine, Adam and Fiona from SERC, Andy & Phil from Inspire who were with the guys every step of the way and of course Ben & Paddy from Deeprock Woodworking CIC who were incredible in their delivery and instruction during the 10 weeks. Thank you all so much.

This programme was a pilot aimed at upskilling economically inactive men on the Ards Peninsula, where there are so few opportunities. It has been a huge success and we truly hope that it will lead to further funding and opportunities 🤞
