It's nice to have a break sometimes 😍

The remnants of Storm Mellissa played havoc with our planned work this morning, so after planting a few bulbs and beautiful flowers we decided to have a chill out and a bacon bap 🥓

This might have been my favourite morning yet with the amazing Plough On group 💪

Creatively Carrowdore 🖌

The incredible Rosy Ennis was back with us yesterday at Carrowdore & Ballyfrenis Presbyterian Church for another artistic printing session 🫶 with our fabulous Coffee in Carrowdore group. Who knew we had such talent?

Rosy will have one more session with us on Tuesday 11th November at 10:30am, so why not pop along and join us for free coffee, free craic and free art.

Our Coffee in Carrowdore group has been running for nearly 5 years now and all started as a joint venture between ourselves, Christ Church, Carrowdore and Carrowdore & Ballyfrenis Presbyterian Church post covid as a way to bring people together within the village. It has been a huge success and hopefully it will continue for many years to come.

We meet every other Tuesday at 10:30am in the Presbyterian Church Hall for coffees, craic, arts & crafts and usually with a guest speaker in tow, so please pop along and meet the group and join the craic.

Our fabulous Julie was back down at The Warehouse Newtownards yesterday with more delicious items from our community garden all thanks to those amazing Plough On guys.

In return they supplied us with some delicious healthy and nutritious frozen meals that are available in our community freezer for anyone who needs them.

Great to see our local partnership growing (quite literally) and keeping everyone healthy, connected and thriving. 🥰

Portavogie was the destination this morning for our hardy walking group 🫶

Thankfully the rain from yesterday had cleared away and left some beautiful looking skies 🌥

A huge well done to those wonderful ladies (and not forgetting Greg) for getting out on a Monday morning for a walk and talk.

Next Monday morning we will be meeting at 10am in Cloughey Beach Car Park, so why not throw your trainers on and join us? 👟

Is there a better way to start the week?

Goodbye Sean 🙏

Can everyone at Peninsula Healthy Living pass on our deepest condolences to the family of Sean Lipfird who we sadly buried on Saturday.

Sean was a regular attendee to lots of our classes and had also joined our board of directors in recent years of which he was a vital and beloved member. We will truly miss his infectious laugh, his love for a bit of the latest gossip and him calling over for a coffee and a bit of craic on a Friday after mindfulness.

Everyone that knew Sean will know how much of a gentleman he was and we are all richer for him having been part of our lives.

Our sympathies go out to his lovely sons Martin and Paul and know that our door is always open.

Rest in Peace Sean 🫶

Leeks, chard, onions, rosemary, thyme and celery all made their way to The Warehouse Newtownards this afternoon fresh from our community garden today by means of those amazing Plough On gentlemen.

We are still planning for the winter and today moved a bed into a more open area, moved some of our broccoli into the bed and also planted some onions also, just another fantastic morning in the garden 🥰

We had some guests today in the form of 3 first year pharmacy students from Queens, who were here to shadow us for the day and learn all about health inequalities. 🥰

We started the day with a visit to The Warehouse Newtownards and then made our way to Kircubbin so we could show them all the great work we do here along with allowing them to meet Gabriel from our local MDT team.

We then finished up the day by having the P6 class from our neighbours at St. Mary's P.S join us for a Q&A session, putting the students under a bit of pressure that they handled admirably.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Susanna, Michael and Ben for coming along and joining us for the day, it was an absolute pleasure having you and we wish you all the best for your future as pharmacists. 🫶
