Today we wanted to share a post with her family’s consent to remember Mary — truly one of a kind and someone none of us will ever forget. Mary was well known by previous staff of Willis, other residents families but also anyone who stepped foot in Willis and we wanted to share this sad news.
From the moment she joined Willis Lodge, Mary made her presence known. When Mary arrived at Willis, it didn’t take long to realise she was the real boss. In her eyes, she was the “manager of Willis Lodge,” and even dressed at times identical to Hollie. Honestly, we all would’ve happily worked for her. Whatever Mary said, went — and she made sure everyone knew she was the queen, which we were all in full agreement with 🤍
Mary brought something special into every single day. She was full of life, character, and a little bit of mischief that kept us all on our toes. Whether it was giving us her famous nicknames, sharing her treasures, or simply saying “love ya,” she had a way of making everyone feel part of her world. You never quite knew what she’d say or do next — but that was the magic of Mary.
She had an incredible way of lighting up a room and leaving her mark on everyone she met. To us, she was never just a resident — she was a huge part of our days, our conversations, and our memories at Willis. She brought laughter when we needed it most, and even on the hardest days, time spent with Mary somehow made things feel a little brighter.
Mary was unapologetically herself in every sense — honest, funny, unique, and completely unforgettable. She reminded us that it’s okay to be different, to speak your mind, and to live life in your own way.
We will all carry our own special memories of Mary — moments that made us laugh, smile, or simply stay with us. That says everything about the kind of person she was and the impact she had on us all.
We were so lucky to have known her — our Mary. She will be missed more than words can say, but never forgotten. 🤍
