October is ADHD Awareness Month!

Today, our dedicated care team took part in an essential PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) Feeding Training session at our Knowsley office, expertly facilitated by Daryl from Knights Training

The training focused on enhancing our knowledge and confidence in delivering specialist nutritional care to individuals with complex feeding needs.

Topics covered included:
Malnutrition Awareness – Understanding the risks, causes, and impact of malnutrition in vulnerable individuals, and how PEG feeding can be a life-sustaining intervention.

BMI and Nutritional Assessment – Learning how to assess body mass index and recognise when nutritional support is needed.

Nutritional Support via PEG – Exploring how PEG feeding ensures clients receive the essential nutrients, fluids, and medications they need when oral intake is not possible.

Feeding Methods & Care Protocols – Safe techniques for administering feed through a PEG tube, including flow rate, positioning, and comfort.

Infection Prevention and Tube Care – Best practices for maintaining hygiene, preventing complications, and caring for the insertion site.

At Best Care Liverpool, we are committed to continuous learning and professional development. Training like this ensures our carers are equipped to deliver high-quality, person-centred clinical care safely and confidently.
