It’s no secret I used to be a lot bigger...🫶

Controlling what I ate felt impossible at times...

I didn’t have an off button — I would just keep eating and eating…

And here’s the truth: that’s more common than you think.
It’s not about being lazy or greedy — it’s about pain, habits, and how we learn to cope...🫶

If you’re struggling, please hear this: You’re not broken. And you’re not alone...🩷💙

I spent years working on myself — mentally, emotionally, physically — and I’ve managed to heal the part of me that was addicted to food.
It didn’t happen overnight, and I still have to stay aware… but it is possible...😃

✨ If you’re ready to take back control, here are some things that helped me:

✅ Start with self-compassion — no more bullying yourself in the mirror.
✅ Routine movement — walking, dancing, lifting, whatever makes you feel alive.
✅ Learn your triggers — when are you most likely to overeat? Why?
✅ Eat mindfully — not perfectly. One small change at a time.
✅ Get support — from a coach, a friend, or a community that gets it.
✅ And finally: be patient. Healing takes time. You didn’t get here overnight — you won’t undo it overnight either...🫶😃🫶

New Month. New Mindset. Be Kind to Your Body 🫶💪🫶

I’ve never vaped — just never saw the point...🤦‍♀️

Honestly, I’m glad to see more places banning them. That’s just my opinion, but I think we should go further. Especially with how many young kids are getting hooked… it breaks my heart 😥

I’m not preaching, and I’m definitely no angel. I’m an ex-smoker who used to drink heavily, throw back shots, and chat for hours in the smoking area. I get the chaos and comfort of it all...🤘🫶🤘

But here’s the thing — with ci******es, at least we know what the risks are: lung cancer, emphysema, chronic disease. With vapes, we’re still guessing. What’s coming down the line? We just don’t know...💔

If you’re struggling — I see you. Life is hard sometimes. But numbing pain isn’t healing it...💔 You deserve better...🩷💙

Start with kindness. To yourself...🩷💙

If you’re using something to cope, ask yourself:
👉 What’s the real source of the struggle?
👉 Can I change the reward instead of feeding the habit?

When I felt overwhelmed in the past, I’d reach for a wee glass of wine and a ciggie!...🚬🍷🚬

Now? I climb a hill ⛰️ blast a power ballad 🎵 go for a run🏃‍♀️ lift something heavy 💪 — and I breathe again... The fix is still there… it’s just a healthier one...🫶🤘🫶

💪 Movement is medicine.
🧠 Self-care isn’t selfish — it’s survival.
🫶 And change is possible — if you want it.

Give yourself a wee hug today. Start fresh. Choose you.
Your body, your mind — they’re worth looking after.

Because clearly I'm not busy enough... 😂
Between packing boxes and juggling life, I thought — why not add one more thing to the mix? So yes, I've just signed up for the Scottish Half Marathon this August! 🏃‍♀️🎽

In all seriousness, while life feels full-on right now with moving house and a million to-dos, I know this is exactly what I need. As a mental health exercise coach, I’ve seen first-hand how powerful running can be for managing stress — and I’m leaning into that hard right now!

Fitting runs into my hectic days won’t be easy, but it’ll help me stay grounded, focused, and sane! 🧠💪

Some of the benefits of running/exercise for stress relief: ✅ Clears the mind and boosts mood
✅ Releases endorphins (hello, runner’s high!)
✅ Reduces anxiety and tension
✅ Helps you sleep better
✅ Gives you a sense of achievement
✅ Offers time to process thoughts — or escape them for a bit!
✅ Builds resilience — mentally and physically

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, honestly, movement is medicine. Even a short walk can change your whole mindset. 💙

You can have everything. The house, the ‘good job’, the toned body, the relationship, the perfect manicure and highlights, countless certificates on the wall & accolades and still feel no peace.

And you can have nothing but your breath and your being and feel more peace than you can ever imagine.

Because peace isn’t something we acquire from outside.

It’s something we remember on the inside.

It’s the return to the true self.
The part of you that isn’t defined by your bank account, your house, your past, your titles, your body, your relationships or what others think of you. None of that can bring you true peace. None of that is who you are.

The peace we’re all searching for, whether we realise it or not - is not the fleeting kind. Not the circumstantial kind. But the kind that anchors you… no matter what’s happening around you.

And when you can connect to that inner stillness, everything shifts.

You see through the illusion.
You stop chasing.
You start ‘being’.

A Gift From the Universe ✨🙏

Every week, I attend a venue that has a table full of items we're welcome to browse through and take from—kind of like a treasure table. And like any curious soul, I always have a little rake through it...😃🙏

Today, tucked away in a box, I found what looked like a bronze ornament. I had a quick glance, felt a spark of curiosity, and decided to take it home. It wasn’t until I got it unwrapped and had a proper look that I saw the name inscribed on the base: RAPHAEL✨️✨️✨️✨️

To my amazement, I realised I had just been gifted a statue of Archangel Raphael—a divine messenger, protector, and healer in so many spiritual traditions. As someone deeply spiritual, this felt like no accident. It was a clear sign, a gift from the universe, placed into my hands at just the right time...✨️✨️✨️🙏

Archangel Raphael is known as the Angel of Healing, often called upon for physical, emotional, and spiritual restoration. His presence is said to bring peace, guidance, and divine light, especially to those who are on a journey of growth or healing✨️🙏✨️

He is also a guide for travelers and those seeking truth and clarity on their path. With his spear, shield, and mighty wings, this sculpture captures his strength and serenity beautifully✨️✨️✨️

I feel truly blessed to have come across this. It feels like a reminder that we are always being looked after—even when we’re not consciously asking for help. Divine timing is everything... ✨✨️✨️

Limitations — or are they?

So often, it's our own mind telling us what we can't do.
But what if we flipped the switch and started telling ourselves, "I can"? 😃

This week alone, I fixed an issue with my boiler — thanks to a YouTube tutorial!
The old me would have gone straight into panic mode, called someone out, and ended up with a hefty bill. But not this time 🙌

Then today, an electric sander arrived.
This weekend, I’ll be sanding and painting — something I never imagined myself doing before. And you know what? I’m actually excited! 😃👌

It's the same when it comes to making healthier lifestyle choices...🧘‍♀️💪
Small steps, taken consistently, can lead to huge transformations...🧘‍♀️💪
You don’t have to overhaul everything overnight. Just begin — one choice, one change at a time...
