Recently, I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting with a wonderful couple who are celebrating 50 incredible years of marriage with a Vow Renewal Ceremony - conducted by yours truly!

It will be a magical, quirky and memorable event with family at it's centre - and I, for one, can't wait to be a small part of their day of Golden Celebrations!

Choosing a poem to read at a funeral is a difficult task as our emotions and sentiments are so individual.

After being asked to point a friend in the right direction, of course I entered a poetry rabbit hole, and today was drawn to the work of Michael Ashby.

This is called Funeralissimo and a lovely choice for a musician’s ceremony:

The musical notes stood in lines
Discordant in their grief
Before regaining their composure
As black tears in embossed relief

The instruments played this salutation
To a musician of note and much more
At the end, everyone stamped their feet
Encore, Encore, Encore
