Many clients ask me "what is a knot?"

Knots start to appear when muscle fibers
get “stuck” in a contracted state. Blood flow to that area decreases, waste products build up, causing discomfort and pain.

How does MASSAGE help?

1.When pressure and movement are applied layers of muscle and fascia are gently sheared and stretched.

2. Massage increases blood flow and increases oxygen which then allows nutrients to flow into the muscles and remove metabolic waste products.

4. Reduces pain signals by stimulating pressure receptors in the skin and muscles.

5. Restores normal movement patterns so muscles can contract and relax properly again
helping joints move more freely.

IMPORTANT!

Massage doesn’t Instantly “break up all scar tissue” in one session. For long lasting results, it works best combined with stretching, strengthening and regular movement.

6. Tight muscles are often partly driven by the nervous system staying in a “guarded” state.

MASSAGE calms the nervous system, reduces nerve sensitivity sending signals to the muscle that it’s safe to relax
