Check out new SafeConnect initiative below from Alzheimer Scotland and Police Scotland to support those with dementia

To request a free SafeConnect set-up pack or to find out more about the initiative, contact the Dementia Advisor team at advice@alzscot.org or call 0300 373 5774

We’re proud to launch SafeConnect in partnership with Police Scotland – a new safeguarding initiative to support people with dementia who may be at risk of going missing.

The SafeConnect fob is a small, yellow device that can be carried or attached to clothing. It holds secure emergency contact details and can be scanned with a smartphone using Near Field Communication (NFC) to help quickly reunite someone with their loved ones or carers.

After a successful pilot in Argyll & Bute and West Dunbartonshire, we're now rolling out SafeConnect fobs free of charge to anyone living with dementia across Scotland.

To request a free SafeConnect set-up pack or learn more about the initiative, please visit our website - www.alzscot.org/safeconnect-request/

We are recruiting for volunteer Helpers!
Would you like to train with us? Training is free, online, and earns an accredited qualification from the Open College Network. The next block starts on Monday 1 September and will run 7-9pm for 12 weeks.

The only entry requirement is having breastfed your own baby/ies (which includes exclusive expressing). In return, you will support parents at our infant feeding groups. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own babies and children along to groups.

We are looking for new Helper volunteers across our network of locations in Glasgow, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire and Inverclyde. Applications for our September block are open until Tuesday 29th July. To find out more and apply, follow this link:

We will also be running a course on Wednesday mornings, starting at the end of October, so if Monday evenings don' t suit you there will be an alternative soon.
