We’d like to say a massive well done and heartfelt thank you to Shona, who took part in the Inverness Half Marathon last month! 🏃‍♀️🏅

Not only did she achieve a fantastic personal best, but she also raised an incredible £1,474.39 for Orkney Prostate Awareness. We truly can’t thank Shona enough for the amazing fundraising and awareness she has brought to our charity. Your effort, donations and support mean so much to us and to the Orkney men our charity aims to support 👏🏼

We’re looking for some local marketing help!

Orkney Prostate Awareness is looking to work with a marketing or communications professional (or small agency) to help us develop a 12-month awareness campaign here in Orkney. The aim is simple but important:

• Help men recognise key symptoms
• Encourage earlier conversations with their GP
• Raise awareness of the support available locally

We’ve had guidance from NHS specialists, so this is about taking what we know works and making it relevant and impactful for our community. We’re particularly keen to hear from people who understand Orkney and can bring practical, creative ideas that we can deliver locally with the help of our volunteers.

🏃🏻‍♀️ Individual runners will set off from Orkney Rugby Football Club at 11am

🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♀️ Teams (those who want to run in pairs or in a team of up to 6 folk) will start their run at 11:30am

🥣🥪 Runners will return to the Rugby Club after they’ve completed the course for a well earned shower, soup and sandwiches!

We’re very excited to be working with Orkney Rotary Club - District 1010 again this year for the Mud Run’s final year at Corse Farm and can’t wait to see you all there in your festive gear!🎄

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since we visited Orkney Rugby Football Club to present them with our OPA-branded rugby balls 🏉

We were delighted to be invited by the club to share a few words and answer questions about the vital work we do — raising awareness around prostate health and helping people recognise the signs and symptoms early. As a committee, we're focused on reaching male-dominated spaces where sensitive topics such as prostate awareness can sometimes take a back seat. Breaking the stigma starts with talking, and we’re proud to be part of that change. 💙
