Day 2 of the sporting events, and my 2nd and last post on the Orkney Island Games.
There’s simply too many exciting happenings to comment on !!! . . . and that’s whilst I’m treating athletes aswell.
From what I’ve seen so far, Orkney has done itself ‘proud beyond measure’ in hosting the games of 2025 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
There is still 4 days left and if you aren’t able to watch it in person, that’s a pity . . . but here’s a great live video link to be able to watch many of the events,

This will be my longest period of time spent in Orkney, with Orkney hosting the 20th International Island Games and me having the pleasure to help out.
An event covering 7 days, involving 24 islands around the world, competing in 12 different sports (not including all the various activities found within the world of athletics)
For now the weather has been fantastic 😎 and Opening Ceremony and Athletes parade, being an excellent start to the games.
All the very best to the Orkney athletes.

Since ~ 1850 in Orkney, on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day each year, a game is played which is known as the ‘Kirkwall Ba’ . . . Uppies v’s Doonies.
To win the game, either the Uppies touch the Ba against a wall at Mackinson's Corner or the Doonies immerse the Ba in the water of the Kirkwall Harbour.
It‘s very clear to me, that this is an event of great Heritage, Passion and Teamwork !
Enjoy the photo compilation of some of the Ba winners who have come through the clinic . . . all of whom I’ve had the good pleasure of meeting.
With definitely not taking any sides 😎 . . . in future Ba games, may the best team win and may everybody play hard, smart and fair . . . and be kept safe 🙏🏻

It was because of Roy Dennison, nearly 22 years ago, that I have visited Orkney every 2 weeks to provide Chiropractic care.
His pleasent persistence eventually had me appreciate the enjoyment and satisfaction of meeting, getting to know and helping, many wonderful Orcadian people.
It was great to catch up with Roy at his formerly owned business, the Ayre Hotel, which has undergone various substantial changes over the years.
