I'm sharing this photo for no other reason than I'm feeling bleaeaerr 🤢 (again). Alison and I found this tree back in 2024 during a dog walk along the now defunct Strathmore Railway. A lovely if a little steep and difficult terrain in places (wear stout boots and take snacks/water). The railway originally ran from Perth, and onwards past Glamis Castle (a once royal residence now open to the public, as are the gardens & grounds) and onto Montrose.

The tree pictured is a Sessile Oak that probably dates back at least 200+ years.

Shadowy figures huddle round a brazier, each with a tale. Hands stretching out to seek heat against the frozen night. The 5 of Pentacles is the perfect antidote to the Christmas excess, and a horrid forbidding tale of misery at the worst time.

Be careful this festive season, caw canny as the Scots say. Remember, we're all just that one or two steps away from being here ourselves.

Star - Drawn from the Tarot of the Abyss deck

Hope springs eternal, as the saying goes. A little pixie dust on a difficult day makes everything that wee bit better. The Star is that companionable aspect, sitting well by other darker, less favoured cards shedding light peace and joy when all hope seems lost.

Please don't think they are pushover though; warm tea, and biscuits, quite the opposite. Your only friend in a disaster, but if this is self created, expect little if no help at all. This is a time for acension, build, grow, show your mutton to the masses and defeat the tempestious rage within.

As an dear friend once said so eloquently, "If you don't fu***ng plant it, Bob, it won't fu***ng grow!!"

Next couple of weeks will be stressful to the max, but you'll find time to relax in between the chaos.
Travel, mixed with the everyday may tax your patience, ultimately this is a reason to celebrate, just get the 'other stuff' out the way first.
