Indian Head Massage Soft Tissue Therapy is similar to a Sports Massage but utilises neuro muscular techniques to aid your healing and recovery whilst giving the body a chance to re-programme the muscle memory so that the effects of your treatment are longer lasting. Maternity reflexology is a wonderful way of helping ladies cope with the aches and pains during pregnancy and after birth. I also help couples with fertility issues. Indian Head Massage helps to calm the mind whilst releasing tension and emotion in the body. Excellent for tension headaches, eye and ear problems, sinusitis and congestion, neck and shoulder stiffness, stress relief and many more. Hopi ear candles help balance the fluid and pressure in the ear making them very useful for even inner ear conditions. An extremely relaxing treatment!

Happy Bank Holiday Friday!

This week has seen amazing results with lymphatic drainage massage. Following surgery to correct a 24 inch blockage in the femoral artery (that is going to be one heck of a scar!) the affected leg was understandably very swollen and sore. This restricts movement of the knee and ankle joints, gentle exercise would aid the body in eliminating the fluid so it’s a viscous circle. Lymphatic drainage techniques are very gentle, they work to firstly make room for the fluid to flow and then encourage it to move. Some gentle stretches also help within manageable limits. The result is a reduction in swelling, the skin stops feeling so tight and itchy and often inflamed. We paired this with acupuncture to the lumbar spine as the epidural has left one side feeling rock solid; this didn’t help my client feel like his mobility was improving either.
All in all a useful set of techniques to have in the toolbox to put together. The next morning I received an update from a very grateful client to say his calf muscle felt “a million times better” and he could now flex his ankle. It’s work in progress but heading the right way.
I have very limited availability for the next two weeks so please drop me a message if you would like to book.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend 🌞

Happy Friday!
It’s been all about acupuncture so far today. Getting great results treating arthritis in the wrist, neck tension and lower back pain. This has got to be one of my favourite treatments, it’s the best ‘go to’ for everything and anything!
To find out how it could help just drop me a message.
Have a lovely weekend 🌞

Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is particularly unpleasant. I experienced it after each covid jab and wouldn’t welcome it back.

I have a client suffering from RLS 2 months post heart surgery. The cause is not fully known but could be in relation to blood loss during surgery (he also has symptoms of anaemia), prolonged periods of immobilisation following surgery is another trigger as is sleep deprivation and we can tick each of those boxes.

Massage is known to improve circulation whilst aiding relaxation. Not all sports massages are to relieve pain and immobility issues. This time it was all about increasing blood flow, gentle stretching and promoting a general feeling of well being which has been difficult post surgery. My client reports a noticeable improvement with the RLS following soft tissue therapy which in turn makes him feel more able to be mobile, which obviously also aids circulation. We can’t always ‘mend’ every underlying issue but helping with the symptoms is always appreciated.

Did you know early morning treatments are available and becoming increasingly popular. I have always offered evening appointments for those who like an after work treatment but many people like to start their day the way they mean to go on. This may help you get treated sooner without disrupting your work schedule. Please get in touch to discuss further. Have a lovely day x
