💚 Gentle Support Through Lymphatic Drainage Massage 💚
Today is World Cancer Day.
“Behind every diagnosis lies a unique human story - stories of grief, pain, healing, resilience, love and more. That’s why a people-centred approach to cancer care that fully integrates each individual’s unique needs, with compassion and empathy, leads to the best health outcomes.” (worldcancerday.org)
For many people navigating cancer treatment or recovery, the body carries more than just physical symptoms—it holds fatigue, swelling, and emotional weight too.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a very light, slow, and nurturing technique designed to support the lymphatic system. For cancer patients, it may help with:
Managing lymphoedema-related swelling
Encouraging relaxation and a sense of calm
Supporting comfort and body awareness during a challenging time
As a soft tissue therapist, my approach is always gentle, respectful, and tailored to where you are at—physically and emotionally. Treatments are adapted carefully, and I work within safe guidelines, often alongside recommendations from your medical or oncology team and always with their prior approval to treat. This work isn’t about “fixing” the body, it’s about supporting it, listening to it, and offering a moment of ease when it’s most needed.
If you or someone you love is curious about whether lymphatic drainage massage could be appropriate, I’m always happy to chat and answer questions 💬
