Prescribing Aesthetic Nurse Specialist. The Loft Health and Beauty Clinic, Knaresborough, Harrogate.

On June 1st 2025 new prescribing rules were introduced in the UK - they are long awaited to improve safety within the industry.

Remote prescribing is now illegal for certain aesthetic treatments, including anti wrinkle treatment. Remote prescribing has never been carried out at KB Medical Aesthetics, I have always followed the safest practice and will continue to see all my clients for thorough face to face consultations prior to prescribing any treatment.

I am a qualified nurse prescriber and will continue to be fully compliant with the new regulations to ensure safe and legal prescribing.

Your safety is my priority. It’s important to understand why these changes protect you - if you’re considering aesthetic treatments make sure your practitioner is compliant and prioritising the safest protocols.

WHY ARE MY QUALIFICATIONS IMPORTANT TO YOU?

I’m Kate, I am a registered nurse and have 16 years experience working within the NHS, specialised in skin and wound care.

I am Level 7 trained in Aesthetic Medicine and I am an independent nurse prescriber and aesthetic practitioner.

I own and run KB Medical Aesthetics based in a clinic in Knaresborough and I am passionate about delivering safe, evidence based and ethical treatments for all of my patients.

Injectable aesthetic treatments are medical procedures and require a deep understanding of facial anatomy and the ability to assess and respond to potential complications.

Only a qualified practitioner can provide safe and effective results that ensure aesthetic outcomes that align with patient safety at all times.

The aesthetic industry in the UK is not regulated to the same level as other fields of medicine. This means that there is a range of individuals who can practice in aesthetics without the need for specific qualifications. Not all aesthetic practitioners are qualified to the same level or are accountable for the treatments they deliver.

When considering aesthetic treatments, make sure you consider if your practitioner is medically qualified, with a high level of experience and able and accountable table to manage complications that sometimes occur.
