The CCG’s membership organisation work with senior managers and lay representatives makes decisions about which health services to commission in this locality area. The CCG’s key objective is to improve the health outcomes of the local population. The CCG’s role is to commission the vast majority of services that local people may need to access either in hospital or in the community including:

• Planned hospital care
• Urgent and emergency care, including ambulances
• Rehabilitation care
• Community health services
• Mental health and learning disability services
• Primary Care

The CCG is a clinically-led organisation; GPs on the Governing Body each take a lead for specific areas of care. The GPs and managers work in partnership within the organisation.
