We had a wonderful visit to IWM North, Imperial War Museums Manchester. As the first branch in the North of England, it’s filled with fascinating collections, including photographs, films, personal stories, and impressive military artefacts. Our residents truly enjoyed every moment—it's certainly a trip we’d love to repeat!

Happy Day Five of Colleague Appreciation Week!

What a fantastic day it was—everyone came to work in their PJs or casual clothes and got stuck into some outdoor fun. From tug of war to skipping, and of course the classic egg & spoon race, the competitive spirit was definitely alive!

Huge congratulations to Tony for taking the top spot in skipping, Jackie for winning race one, and Lyn for claiming victory in race two of the egg & spoon race (although there were a few playful accusations of cheating along the way!). Team B dominated the tug of war—fair and square too! just look at the determination on everyone's faces! who said we aren't competitive.

It was truly an amazing day filled with laughter and great memories. Thank you to everyone who made it so special. Cranford Grange really showed what it means to be one team, one family—proud to be colleagues, teammates, and friends.

This week, we celebrate the 94th birthday of a truly remarkable gentleman, Donald Buttress OBE.

As well as marking this special milestone, we reflect on a lifetime of extraordinary achievements and cherished memories. An acclaimed architect, Donald was awarded his OBE in the 2008 New Year Honours for his services to the conservation of cathedrals. His distinguished career includes designing the Queen Mother Memorial on The Mall near Buckingham Palace, unveiled in 2009, and serving as the chief architect for Westminster Abbey. He also devised the heraldic stained glass window there and later shared his knowledge through lecturing at Manchester University.

Today, Donald marked his birthday in wonderful fashion—with a refreshing walk, a lunchtime visit from the local pub with family, and birthday cake celebrations in the evening. There’s truly no slowing him down, and looking not a day older than when Donald received his OBE.
