At our most recent NQP preceptorship session we talked about imposter phenomenon, what kinds of thoughts we might have had and in what situations. It was lovely to see that non of our NQPs have never felt alone whilst at Speech Leap and were able to readily seek support from others. Reframing our critical inner voice into one of growth is important at every stage of our career, but particularly in the first few years when there is so much to learn. Another great session together.

Community engagement at Speech Leap is important to us as we get to share our knowledge with a wide variety of people.

Sarah and Millie had such a lovely time at the Bump to Baby event at John Lewis πŸ’›

It was amazing chatting with so many excited parents-to-be and sharing just how powerful it can be to start communicating with your baby before they're even born πŸ‘Ά
Those early connections really do matter- and it's never too soon to begin building that bond πŸ’«

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, we loved meeting you all!

Great to see such fantastic engagement from staff during our recent training delivered by Sarah and Millie at one of Sarah's school contracts. The session focused on how to support children who speak English as an Additional Language, and it was inspiring to see so many thoughtful discussions and ideas being shared. We're really looking forward to seeing the shared strategies and resources being put into practice in classrooms ⭐ πŸ“š

Happy Spring 🐣

Over the Easter period, keep communication growing at home and in school by using Easter Makaton signs together. Signing alongside speech helps children build understanding, confidence and connection.

Why not practise during Easter egg hunts, Spring walks, story time or whilst talking about the change of seasons. 🌷

Millie has been bringing Easter fun into therapy this week with therapy-room egg hunts to keep children engaged! Seasonal activities are a great way to boost motivation and enthusiasm, while getting children up and moving helps support their attention and listening skills.

Justine had a great day at the ASLTIP conference last Friday filled with inspiring talks and the opportunity to catch up with other therapists from across the country. Sarah Stone's talk on motivation was particularly powerful as well as the panel discussion round inclusion in the SLT profession and the importance of including our service users preferences and values as an integral part of evidence-based practice.

Working in independent practice, belonging together.

Thank you ASLTIP for a fantastic day. ⭐
