“What’s the best way to practice yoga?”

It’s something we get asked all the time…and the truth is, there isn’t just one answer.

There are infinite ways to practice. No one lineage, no one style, no one teacher has it all figured out. And the best teachers will tell you that, because they know they are students first, always.

Your practice will shift and evolve as you do. What you need today might be completely different to what you needed a year ago… or even last week.

Sometimes it’s strong and dynamic. Sometimes it’s slow and restorative. Sometimes it’s simply showing up and breathing.

The “right” practice isn’t about what looks best or what’s most advanced, it’s about what feels right for you in that moment.

That’s why at Satya Sanctuary we offer the widest variety of styles, teachers and approaches locally, so you can explore, experience and find the practices that truly support you.

Because yoga isn’t one thing. And neither are you.

We’ve all been there… halfway through a set and your brain is like is telling you all the reasons to leave, and honestly… we get it. But here’s the thing, it’s not about forcing your way through or ignoring how you feel. It’s about meeting yourself where you are, maybe softening something, maybe slowing down… and then choosing what feels right for you in that moment.

Sometimes that’s resting.
Sometimes it’s laughing through it.
And sometimes it’s staying for just one more rep.

Because it’s not really about the class… it’s about how you feel after, stronger, clearer, and a little bit proud of yourself (even if you still want that ice cream sandwich 🍦).

Throughout March, your first Reformer Pilates class is just £11 if you’re new to Satya, simply choose the March into Reformer Pass at checkout.

Move your way. Always.

This weekend we celebrate the beautiful mums of Satya Sanctuary! Not just for their beauty, but for their strength, their creativity and their courage.

We celebrate the mums in our community; our students and our teachers, who somehow manage to hold so many things at once. The ones who show up for themselves in the middle of busy lives, school runs, work and everything in between.

But we also hold space for those for whom this weekend may feel different.
For those longing to become mums, those grieving their mums, and those navigating complex relationships with motherhood.

However and wherever this weekend meets you, know that you are not alone, we’re in it together. Whether you’re coming to move, breathe, reset or simply take a moment for yourself, we’d love to see you in the studio

Shake the Dust is back as part of Knutsford Wellness Week this Friday | 6:00–6:55pm

In a world that often asks us to sit still, stay quiet and carry on, sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is move.

Shake the Dust is a joyful, liberating practice that blends movement, music, shaking and embodied Pilates to help release stress, shift stagnant energy and reconnect with your body.

Often described as “clubbing for your nervous system,” it’s less about perfect choreography and more about letting your body express what words sometimes can’t.

Right now, with everything happening in the world around us, spaces where we can move, dance, shake and breathe together feel more important than ever. Movement helps regulate the nervous system, lift the mood and remind us that we’re alive and connected.

So join us this Friday at 6pm. Come exactly as you are, ready to move, ready to release, ready to feel a little lighter.

£12 or included in membership/class pass
Book via the link in our bio or the Satya Sanctuary app.

5 things we often hear before someone tries Reformer Pilates…

And why they’re usually not true 👇

1. “It looks too complicated for me.”
Yes, the reformer looks like a lot at first glance; straps, springs, a moving carriage, but that’s actually what makes it so supportive. The machine helps guide your movement and creates resistance that can be adjusted for any level. After a few minutes, it starts to make sense.

2. “I’ve got injuries, I wouldn’t manage.”
Reformer Pilates was originally developed to help rehabilitate injured bodies. The springs can assist movement, reduce load on joints and allow exercises to be modified safely. When taught properly, it can be one of the most supportive ways to rebuild strength after injury.

3. “It’s just for women.”
Not at all. Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates to train soldiers and is now used by elite athletes across sport, from footballers to golfers. It builds strength, stability, mobility and control, which benefits every body.

4. “It’s just for people who are really fit.”
One of the biggest myths. Because the resistance can be adjusted and exercises modified, reformer is as accessible to beginners as it is challenging for advanced movers. The work simply meets you where you are.

5. “It’s just stretching.”
You will improve flexibility, but reformer is far from “just stretching”. The slow, controlled movements build deep strength, particularly through the core, glutes and stabilising muscles that support your posture and joints.

At Satya Sanctuary our reformer sessions are intentionally small with just two beds, allowing every class to be adapted to the bodies in the room.

Because Pilates shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all.
It should fit you, join us at our studio on King Street, Knutsford to see what Reformer Pilates is really like! As part of Knutsford Wellness Week you can join us for one week of unlimited studio classes and 1 reformer pilates class for just £20! Purchase your pass now by clicking the link in our bio!

Today we celebrate each and every incredible woman who is part of Satya Sanctuary here in Knutsford; our teachers, our students, our mothers, daughters, friends and the women who came before us who made it possible to create spaces like this.

Spaces where women can move, breathe, grow stronger, support one another and simply be themselves.

In yoga philosophy, the feminine has always been recognised as a powerful and essential force. One of the most beautiful representations of this is Ardhanarishvara, the form of Shiva depicted as both male and female in one body. It symbolises that the masculine and feminine are not opposites competing with one another, but complementary energies that must exist together for balance and creation.

There can be no creation without both.
No strength without softness.
No action without intuition.

Yoga reminds us that these energies exist within all of us, regardless of gender, and that true harmony comes from honouring both.

So today we celebrate the women who hold space, who lift others up, who keep showing up for themselves and for those around them.

To the women of Satya, thank you for making this community what it is. Thinking you may want to join us? Do it! You won’t regret it and we can’t wait to meet you! Our Intro offers are a great way to deep dive into our offerings and our community! Check them out on our website!
