This weekend my little business, Perfect Podiatry, turns 15 🎉
An impulsive decision to leave half of my NHS job and start a small business turned out to be the best impulsive decision I’ve ever made.
I was 26, with absolutely no idea how to run a business. But I backed myself. I knew I was a good podiatrist, and I knew I had a genuine passion for people.
I started small — very small. Homemade leaflets that my mum and I hand-delivered. A basic kit. A simple room. It wasn’t fancy in the slightest. But I cared deeply about doing a good job, and about making people feel comfortable and looked after. I like to think that’s what made people come back.
There were quiet clinic days where I wondered if I’d done the right thing. But I kept going. Slowly but surely, the diary filled.
Since then, I’ve weathered two maternity leaves, economic changes, and even a pandemic… and I’m still here. Now fully self-employed and all in.
I’ve stayed true to my roots, working from a room alongside the incredible team at Roberta Beauty. Roberta believed in me from the beginning, and I truly couldn’t have done this without her support.
To every single client — past and present — thank you. Your trust, loyalty and support mean more than you know. I am genuinely so grateful to each and every one of you.
Some of you have been coming to me for well over a decade now, and that truly blows my mind.
Here’s to 15 years 🤍
