The Friends of Oaklands is looking for volunteers to help out at the home.
This could be doing anything from helping with activities to assisting someone to eat their lunch, helping with the garden or just coming in for a coffee and chat with residents.

If you are free this afternoon pop on down to the Oaklands open day which is running until 5pm. See the recent refurbishment, meet the staff and have a cuppa.
The Friends group are there as well so come and say ‘Hi’.

Hi Everyone. It is with great regrets that we have had to temporarily close the monthly Dementia Cafe at Oaklands. Hopefully things will be up and running again soon. Watch this space for further details. Stay well everyone x

We are very grateful to the Basildon Coop Funeral Directors for their support to the friends group. This money will go towards much needed sensory equipment, improv in the lives of the residents at Oaklands.

Are you living with dementia or are you caring for someone and need some extra support. Well, why not come along to our monthly cafe which is held at Oaklands Care Home. We can give you support and company and you can meet people going through similar experiences to your own. The cafe is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 10.30 - 11.30am. This Friday evening (5-7pm) is our table sale at Oaklands. We have a wide range of gifts for Christmas plus there will be mulled wine and cake! If you are free and can pop along to support us then we would love to see you.

We had a wonderful morning at the Dementia Cafe today. Decorating gingerbread men and singing carols. We even had music from three of our lovely clients.
If you know of anyone struggling to cope with dementia or other memory related problems, whether it be themselves or someone they are caring for, then let them know about the Dementia Cafe at Oaklands. We are back in the new year on Wednesday 2nd January 10.30-11.30am.
