A big thank you to Maldon Stroke Club for inviting me down to speak to such a fantastic group about looking after your feet following a stroke 👣
It was a real pleasure to meet so many members and share some practical advice. I’d also like to give a special thank you to all of the volunteers who give up their time to run such an important and supportive service – it really makes a difference. The volunteers pictured here are a great example of the people behind the scenes who make this group what it is 🙌
The group currently has around 30–40 stroke survivors and carers, supported by approximately 15 dedicated volunteers, and they are always happy to welcome new members.
Each session includes 30–45 minutes of seated or standing exercise led by a qualified and insured physiotherapist, followed by a social catch-up over tea and coffee, plus entertainment such as quizzes or talks. Your first visit is free, and then there is a small weekly fee.
They also organise regular outings, and there’s a fantastic Aphasia group held weekly at Maldon Library for those experiencing speech difficulties.
The group is run by the Stroke Association – you can find out more here:

Thanks again for having me – I look forward to coming back! 😊
