The last of the spring daffodils are still hanging on 🌼

A little reminder that the season is shifting — longer days, more time outdoors, and (for many of us) a return to gardening, walking, and getting stuck into those long-postponed jobs.

If you’re starting to feel those familiar ni**les creep in — a sore back after weeding, stiff shoulders after a clear-out — you’re not alone. This time of year often catches people out as we suddenly ask more of our bodies.

Wishing everyone running the Dartmoor Marathon this weekend the best of luck 🏃‍♀️⛰️

We’re especially proud of one of our clients, Hannah, who is taking on her first ever marathon. Here’s her story in her own words:

“5 months into marathon training and I’ve learned it’s not just about miles 🏃‍♀️
I’ve been following a 22-week plan on the Runna app, aiming for 3 runs a week and 1–2 strength sessions. It hasn’t been perfect (life, work, illness all get in the way), but I’ve tried to stay flexible and consistent rather than rigid.

Booking races early definitely helped keep me accountable, but my main goal has stayed the same: stay strong and get round. Especially with a very hilly first marathon ahead ⛰️ — I’ve avoided setting a strict time goal.

Mentally, training has been a real mix. It’s easy to feel on top of the world after a great run, and just as easy to feel frustrated when things don’t go to plan. I’ve become more aware of how energy levels fluctuate and the importance of listening to my body.

The best part? Exploring new places and trails. Running with friends has made all the difference — our Sunday morning run club keeps those long miles positive and fun. Lana our dog has loved joining too!

There’s been so much inspiration along the way. I ran part of a race with an amazing woman 30+ years older than me who I couldn’t keep up with — proof that strength and fitness can keep building.

I’m fully expecting to be humbled on race day, but that’s part of it. This one’s about showing up and doing my best.

Proud to be running for Dartmoor Search and Rescue, helping keep our moors safe and accessible for everyone.

We’re thrilled to welcome Olivia, Chartered Physiotherapist, to our team! 🙌

Starting 21st April, Olivia will be offering evening appointments on Tuesdays at our Lamerton clinic, making it easier than ever to get expert physiotherapy care.

With 5 years of physiotherapy experience and elite athlete insight from representing Great Britain in Tag Rugby, Olivia is passionate about helping you regain mobility, recover from pain or injury, and get back to the activities you love. 💪

Her patient-centred approach combines thorough assessment, tailored exercise programmes, manual therapy, and where appropriate, acupuncture and sports massage.

Outside the clinic, Olivia enjoys running, gym workouts, tag rugby, and exploring Dartmoor. 🌿
