The Harmony Institute Health Initiative

The Harmony Institute Health Initiative Formerly The Harmony Institute Health Initiative, this page now represents a collaboration between The Harmony Institute and The British Wheel of Yoga.

Tickets are now available for The Harmony Institute Health Initiative's 2023 conference, which runs from June 30th to July 2nd at UWTSD's Lampeter campus. A full weekend of presentations, discussions, workshops, and music explores the South Asian traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda. Over this weekend we bring together practitioners, teachers, clinicians, scholars, and performers to explore these age-old traditions, herbalism, and their modern developments. We also invite comparison with the parallel traditions of East Asia as well as the --often now overlooked--traditional holistic medicine of the Western world. Additionally, on the Friday evening we are delighted to present Gitân; a sonic storying between India and Wales with Rajesh David and Stacey Blythe. This event is free and all are welcome. Doors open in the Lampeter Arts Building at 19.00hrs, to commence at 19.30hrs. https://gitan.co.uk/

On the Saturday evening we are delighted to welcome back the composer and virtuoso harpist, Catrin Finch, who will deliver a World First especially for us! She has devised a performance based upon the five Ayurvedic elements that constitute human beings (Fire, Air, Earth, Water, and Ether) and will first improvise around each of these, followed by coupling them with a corresponding piece from the classical repertoire. This round of five sonic elements will be played continuously in a single, immersive, experience. Tickets are £16 and available in person from:

The Mulberry Bush, Bridge Street, Lampeter
Siop Y Smotyn Du, High Street, Lampeter
Ydfa Health Food Store, Victoria Street, Aberaeron
The New Medical Hall, Tregaron
They can also be purchased online from the UWTSD booking office here: https://forms.uwtsd.ac.uk/view.php?id=539469
